This enchanting little book is for reading to children but contains several of my favourite paintings including 'Double Portrait with Wineglass'. Such a happy little book, with a cartoon depicting his uncle Neuch playing the vioin which made Marc so happy that he felt his 'head would gently float off his body'. There are other charming moments but I won't spoil them here! Buy it and read it with a child :-)
Having previously read six of the titles in this series, this is probably the less informative of the now seven I have read. Guess I wanted more info as I have only read one other title about Chagall. I did learn that lots of things in Chagall’s paintings he saw in his dreams and if a person in his paintings that means they are happy., also a fiddler is seen in many of his paintings.
Discusses the life and work of artist, Marc Chagall from his birth in Russia (born Moshe Segal), to his death at the age of ninety-seven. Includes 28 beautiful images of his paintings plus a few others.
...also some clever illustrations by Mike Venezia.
