This picture book incorporates a question and answer text to introduce children to various animals and the noises they make. The animals include a dog, a cow, a horse and a duck with her brood of fluffy ducklings.
This one is actually quite cute. I like the illustration style, and that its all baby animals. My son likes seeing them and hearing the classic animal sounds. And the final page brings them all together and is good for pointing and practicing. Lovely.
An adorable book from wildlife illustrator Butler, this is a fun guessing game of animal noises. For each animal (dog, cow, duck, chicken, pig, etc), there is a simple question and answer format coupled with the illustration: "Who says woof? A dog says woof". He loved it around 11 months and on, especially after visiting a farm with animals at 13 months and recognizing some of the animals (we brought the book along).
This one is trickier for the kids, but they were starting to catch on. Instead of saying "What does a dog say?" you say "Who says woof?" etc. It's more challenging for the kids to do it backwards but an important challenge to give them, I think. Make them think in a different way.
Well, it is very simple, and pretty illustrations. Babies and toddlers participated in the guessing and naming and it fits the farm theme or the animal noises theme.
