The Mandates: 25 Real Rules for Successful Gay Dating

Rate this book
How do you win the dating game if you’re a gay man?

After many years of serial monogamy, Dave Singleton went to the front lines to find out, exploring the lives of other gay men who found themselves on the dating fast track with guys they’d met from work, at the gym or bars, and, increasingly, on the Internet. Thus, The Mandates was born—a laugh-out-loud but completely true set of rules about the making (or breaking) of men’s romantic relationships.

Cute, but not something I would actually put into action.

Loved it. Crosses a look at gay dating and relationships with good humor and I like the author's writing style. I've remembered several really smart observations since I put it down. The online dating world keeps changing and this was written before dating apps, so that's missing, but 80% of it still applies to attitudes and behaviors. I like the different stories from different guys and different topics as well - plenty of diversity in what's covered.

It's a cute book and some of it was relevant common sense stuff. I'll actually apply some of the teachings.
