I read this to my son and nephews under 10 years of age at the cabin. We’d pick it up when we were out there - because he goes to different lands, it worked to set it down for awhile and then come back to it. The boys seemed to enjoy it much more than I expected, it was a hit for them. They could have read it themselves too as it was easy story and words and big font, but we had fun doing this as ‘bedtime story time’. It touches on each land and their people in a simple and fun way. One day we might all read the full story and remember our evenings of our first exposure to the story. I’m keen to read the full version now! And they might enjoy a movie version next...

Read to kids (7 and 10). Plan for breaks because it has many opportunities to imagine and share ideas about being small or large. It is a great book to start extra discussions and day dreams.
