Last of the M.R.D. Meek (not Janice, as this site states) Lennox Kemp mysteries generally available. The 1st 2 are long OP and impossible to find, the last 5 are rare and expensive…
This entry was a fine example of Meek’s style, the characters are all quirky but believable (well, maybe the American mobster is a bit of reach!), the plot is highly intriguing, and the denouement, while a bit telegraphed, is satisfactory.
Kemp receives a letter from the US which informs him that his long-ago former wife has passed away and explains that he is a legatee. As he’d had no contact with her since the divorce, it’s a bit of a surprise. As with much in the Lennox Kemp stories, there’s more to come…a well written book, if the others were available I’d read them all.
