Amy was born with cerebral palsy and grew up with many medical appointments and ER visits. She has faced many challenges with everyday activities and walked with a limp her entire life. Despite these difficulties, she has chosen to live with joy and perseverance. Why Do You Walk That Way? tells Amy’s story in her own words—a story rooted in hope. She relates the struggles she faced as a child and how her support system and optimistic mindset helped her push forward and live life to the fullest. She became an elementary school teacher, a stay-at-home mom to two girls, and a writer. Her passion is to encourage parents and teachers by writing and sharing her story. She was diagnosed with mild hemiplegic cerebral palsy at 10 months old. She prays that her story can be an inspiration for individuals with disabilities as well as for parents of disabled children in the midst of a heavy medical diagnosis. Amy currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and her two daughters.
