Nicky Nurse practitioner school. Work. Care for my mom. Wash, rinse, repeat. That sums up my life until I cross paths with Romeo Parisi. Now, I’m tangled in the underboss’ web. I’ve been strong-armed into inking a deal with the mafia—concierge care for the Parisi family. The terms? For life. If I refuse? My life. Romeo wants more than medical care from me, but mixing business with pleasure has the potential to get all kinds of complicated. Deadly complicated.
Romeo Sunday Mass with Nonna. Work. Disappoint my father. Wash, rinse, repeat. That sums up my life until I cross paths with Nicky Thomas. The woman’s mine, and lying, cheating, and stealing are the least of the sins I will commit to keep it that way.
Oh what a tangled web we weave when the Parisi family we try to deceive.
Author’s note: Forgotten Vengeance is on the lighter side of dark mafia romance. TW can be found at the beginning of the book.
I have read the worst of the worst books. (Don't take this lightly - I've once read a Wattpad book where the author changed the setting from medieval to modern in between the book)
This book certainly isn't the worst, but damn if it didn't hover there. I have pretty low standards, I usually like things even when others don't. I walked into this book with confidence, but well....it was not good.
The main characters barely have any chemistry - sound more like horny teenagers (not in a good way).
This book was a mix of cliche's that we all know, so much so that the author didn't even bother to describe some.
We are told Nicky has a mother, we see her for barely a moment, and then we are supposed to feel bad for Nicky as she cries to Romeo. HOW? as readers we never felt that connected to the mother or understood how Nicky felt.
This book is a disappointment. A parody of a romance book and nothing more
I had given it a 2 star rating after 50% I'm at 75% - barely a star 100% done...and I'm sticking to one star. The last plot point is exciting.

❥ 𝑵𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒚 Loved this tough but kinda naive girl. She learns to stand her ground against Lochlan and I liked her loyalty.
❥ 𝑹𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐 He has some problems communicating what bugged me sometimes. But overall a big, broody and obsessed man - liked him.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This book has a lot of potential. Sadly everything happens so fast and there was no thrilling story building. The love story happened in the first half of the book, this was in my opinion too quick and short. Romeo and Nicky are cute together and I liked their dynamic. They come together real quick and I wish the author gave them more time to develop feelings and to know each other. The insta love doesn’t felt right. I liked the nurse x mafia boss trope really much - it has a lot of potential. The characters were all likeable and entertaining. Valentina and Sam were funny and I hope they get their own story? The writing style is easy and fluent. The plot is entertaining but besides the fast love story not thrilling at all.
𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤? Maybe, if you‘re into insta love.
𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬 possessive and protective hero, forced proximity, dislike to lovers, touch her and die, nurse x mafiaboss, insta love, traumatic childhood, mafia, he falls first and harder
𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 ages: Nicky (24) and Romeo (28) cheating: no sharing: no kinks: no
Light mafia with spice and good banter. Oh and a Doberman named Mercuito (how freaking cute). Modern day Romeo and Juliet (Nicky) in a mafia setting. I absolutely loved this. It made me laugh so many times and I didn’t realize how bad I needed a light mafia book in my life. Nicky is a nursing student who bumps into the devilishly handsome Romeo and then gets dragged into a mafia family deal. But there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to sassy Nicky. Every single character was thoughtfully written and contributed to the story. No character left behind, I like it! The Parisi family will make you fall in love and roll your eyes. Plus who doesn’t love an overbearing and hilarious grandma who cooks amazing food? One of my most favorite mafia reads ever.
This started off fun, but the story was basically over at the 30% mark. I'm actually a fan of insta love, but this didn't work. The MCs also had no chemistry and just thrown together. Overall, it's just underwhelming. But a quick, easy read if you are looking for a light dark romance!
Gonna give book two a go and decide if I'll continue the series from there.
- Nicky is really funny lol “Reviewing the non-disclosure agreement, I half expect it to say “Snitches get stitches and wind up in ditches,” but it uses much nicer legalese.” - With how often people think she’s Italian, pretty sure the abusive dad that her mom was hiding from was with parisi family - Hmmm there’s nothing but sex…. - She’s funny but there’s absolutely no personality to the main characters. Just sex. The side characters seem deeper - I feel like Sam and Valentina should be a thing - Shouldn’t she be more concerned about getting kicked out of her program…. - Sure she’s “bad ass” and resists but it means nothing. She just gives in - The banter she has with Sam is better than any interaction with the MMC - I take it back. Nicky is just stupid as hell - I was right. - This was… something. Lots of potential for sure. Not sure if I’ll read more from the series. We’ll see. Not in the mood now. Doesn’t seem Sam and Valentina have a book and that’s really all I’m interested in.

Aahhhhh no I still have soooo many unanswered questions!!! I need the next book please ASAP!!! I absolutely loved this book so much oh my gosh I couldn’t get enough & I still want more lol!!🥰😅
I freak’n love Nicky & Romeo so much their characters aahhhh just everything!! I also love a few of the side characters as well haha their freak’n awesome!! I’m so at lost for words right now it was just chef’s kiss soooo soooo good!!♥️🖤
I’m not going to say anything more cuz I don’t wanna give anything away!! Except this is such a great book & a Must freak’n read!!!
My first read by andrea and i am obsessed… it was HOT , funny , swoon worthy and the plot twist at the end !!! i knew something was brewing but not THAT 🤩🤩🤩 the chemistry between nicky and romeo is so sizzling, you can literally feel it through the pages 🥵🥵 .. the steam and the connection between them was soo hypnotising and i couldn’t put this book down 🔥
nicky is a spitfire and Romeo is not a man who will take no for an answer 🙈.. after an hilarious encounter between them that ends with Romeo shot in a drive by and nicky founding herself thrown in the backseat of a car to help save him as she is a nurse , she thought that’s was all of it but she was in for a surprise ..🔥 romeo is a man obsessed and the "he falls first and hard" trope here is soooo gooood and perfect 🔥🔥🖤🖤
Nicky is sassy , fierce and i loove that she doesn’t take crap from anyone 👌🏼🖤 her banter with sam (Romeo’s second in command) are some of my favourite scenes in the book 😅😅
There was a cliffhanger of sorts as i guess that specific storyline is going to continue in the next books of the serie and i am all in for it 🔥🔥
This is Absolutely one of my fav reads this year 😍😍 the writing style is soo good and i am definitely reading more by this author ❤️❤️
I was hooked right from the beginning. This is the first book in the new Parisa Family series and I cannot wait for the next book. I need it now! I’ve entered this world and am not ready to leave it. There is so much to love that I’m having to hold back from saying too much.
Nicky is finishing Nurse Practitioner school when she runs into Romeo at the coffee shop. Their meeting was set up for a perfect meet cute until the bullets start flying. When Romeo is shot, Nicky is thrown into his SUV to help save his life. Nicky gets wrapped up in his dangerous and complicated world and Romeo is determined to keep her there.
I have so much love for Nicky and Romeo. Nicky is full of sass and is such a fun character. Romeo is definitely my definition of a book boyfriend. He's domineering, speaks Italian, growls, and threatens anyone who looks at her…..don’t dare to touch her. Their chemistry is hot, expect dirty talk and hand necklaces. There was the perfect balance between spice and plot. The plot pulled me in. It’s full of action, violence, and surprising twists.
This is a mafia romance, it is on the lighter side but does contain violence. If you love a jealous/possessive alpha hole, a feisty woman, and wonderful supporting characters I highly recommend reading this one.
I consider myself a mafia romance connoisseur, therefore whenever I’m able to get my hands on a new mafia book I’m a happy girl! Add a new-to-me author on top of it and I’m an ecstatic girl.
“Forgotten Vengeance” is book #1 in Andrea Hagen’s Parisi Family series & it follows Romeo and Nicky in a fun approach to a not-too-dark mafia romance- so if you’re not a fan of most mafia books because you feel like they are too dark- don’t write this one off, pick it up and appreciate it’s mafia greatness!
Upon Romeo and Nicky’s first meeting, they are instantly intrigued by the other. Immediate (& dangerous) circumstances force them together. In this book the steam is steaming 🔥 and the morally grey MMC, Romeo is a “thoughtful yet completely domineering man”, who is oh-so possessive, obsessive and protective of the FMC, Nicky who is a nurse practitioner forced to work for the “family”. We all know the mafia has tons of enemies 🐍- will Nicky give into Romeo’s possessiveness? Maybe. Will secrets be uncovered from decades ago? Yeppers. Buy this book or read this book on Kindle Unlimited for a wonderful mafia read!
I cannot wait for book #2! Will you check this book out? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️
Absolutely loved it! Loved how the writing was, it was super easy to read and plus it was also super easy to get completely immersed in the world!
Both the FMC and the MMC were very interesting and I was never bored when reading either of their POVs. And I love how witty Nick is and how she doesn't anyone control her! (Besides Romeo 🫢😏) Romeo is quite a handsome devil in disguise, which just adds to his character!
I absolutely loved the tension between Romeo and Nicky! The spice scenes were spicy and quite sexy. I love them together!
The supporting characters are strong as well! I found that I loved them all! I love how sweet Nonna was, and I love how Valentina was fierce and how headstrong she is! I hope we learn more about Sam! I also really loved the back and forth between Nicky and Sam! It was quite funny! I absolutely love Enzo! I also hope we get to see more of him and learn more about him!
I can not wait for the second book to come out! I most likely will be pre-ordering it soon!!
If you like mafia romances, then I would definitely recommend this book!! And if you've never read a mafia romance before, then this would be an amazing first mafia romance for you!

Cliffhanger For Sure 🤭
Romeo wasn't a Knight in Shinning Armor but he definitely swooped in at the perfect time and took charge of anything that needed to be fixed swiftly. He got more than he bargained for when he decided to take control of Nicky's entire life.
Nicky was a strong hard working woman who had a promising future ahead of her until she is completely sidelined by a sexy life altering force of nature.
This story is full of action, a bit of graphic activity and whole lot of tantalizing passionate interactions that some of Us can onkybdream about. There were plenty of times I felt my cheeks turn red while reading this book. Romeo & Juliette this couple wasn't but they most assuredly give couples goals to try and reach.
There are strong dynamics in the Parisi family that ran deep and they held steadfast from Nonna the grandma down to Valentia the youngest grandchild.
Andrea Hagan kept me glued to the pages for a couple hours and when the last page came up I'm not gonna lie I was cussing just a little bit. Be ready to go to the next book because you have to know how the story ends.
You will not regret taking time for this read. Happy Reading 📚
Oh.My.Gawd! No, I’m not doing a horrible imitation of Janis from Friends. I am in love with Nicky so much! From the beginning of “Forgotten Vengeance,” the directly outspoken FMC stole the story for me. She unexpectedly got caught in a mafia crossfire after leaving work. Nicky then finds herself k¡dnapped and has to save an injured mafia man’s life and is forced to be the mafia’s new doctor—no matter if she is in nursing school and an exotic dancer.
“Forgotten Vengeances is book 1 of the Parisi Family, and Romeo (MMC) can speak Italian anytime he wants for me. Author Andrea Hagan wrote a crime boss who falls first and will not let her go. He will do anything for her.
The book is toted as a dark-ish romance but is certainly not short of suspense, twists, and spice. Readers can expect dirty talking, some fun k¡nks, and Romeo speaking Italian––did I already mention that?
Romeo is not the typical OTT/JP crime boss. He is also thoughtful, kind, sweet, and loves his Nonna dearly.
Thankfully, Book 2 is already out, so readers can jump right onto that.
I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
“He’s afraid Romeo will kill him if he looks at you,” Enzo whispers to me. “Why?” I ask, raising an eyebrow. “Because Romeo threatened to kill Tommaso if he looks at you.”
I was absolutely HOOKED!! Romeo and Nicky left my bisexual heart fluttering for more! Their relationship stuck to me faster than most, which kept me reading. I've been reading this any chance I could for the last three days, I am OBSESSED! Romeo is obsessive, possessive, and all shades of spicy. Nicky is sassy, independent, and every color of seductive.
I absolutely adored this story, regardless of the highly overused italian names. (Valentina, Romeo, Antonio, Franchesca... ykno)
Aside from the main couple, I enjoyed Enzo the most. He surprised me with his attitude and personality, especially when he came out to Nicky!
One tiny thing that startled me was Nicky's occupation. A nurse playing as a stripper in her late hours really struck me by surprise. Not something I'd expect, and maybe that's a good thing...
If you like mafia romance this should be on the TOP of your list!!! It's so so good, one of my favorite mafia romance novels at the moment!

When Italian underboss Romeo Parisi is shot, he commandeers innocent bystander, Nicky Thomas, a trainee nurse practitioner, to save his life. Little does Nicky realise that Romeo isn’t planning on letting her go any time soon.
Forgotten Vengeance delivers an authentic and engaging Mafia romance story - with all the features I particularly adore. A downright and deliciously possessive MMC, one Romeo Parisi. An FMC, Nicky, written with sass and strength, and certainly not a woman to be underestimated. And a compelling storyline with sufficient twists and turns to keep me entranced right until the very last page.
I love finding a new author who manages, with one book, to completely bowl me over. Future Parisi family books will be headed straight to the top of my TBR list.
The book is written very well. It’s gripping, spicy and unputdownable. It’s a dark Mafia romance. I mean who doesn’t love such an intriguing characters and undeniable chemistry. Nicky is a nurse practitioner and Romeo is an underboss. They bump into each other in a coffee shop. As soon as she cross path with Romeo Parisi, she gets tangled in the underboss web. Some secrets gets unveiled too. Expect the unexpected at the end. The author creates such an intriguing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with them. Nicky is sassy and Romeo is such an intriguing man. He is protective, authoritative, charming and definitely possessive. I adored them and the side characters were also so good. I enjoyed the witty banters and their conversations and bonding.
Couldn’t put this down! My first from Andrea Hagan and it’s so good! This story follows Nicky who gets more that she bargained for when Romeo falls at her feet quite literally (fortunately for him, she’s a nurse)
In this Mafia read, he falls first (but she does not! Lots of action, hidden secrets and great banter with supporting characters (Sam, his sarcastic remarks and Nonna 😍).
Nicky is a fabulous! She is not afraid at all of the mob underboss she finds herself caught up with and calls him out many times over. And Romeo is the perfectly morally grey, crazed MMC! I’m very much looking forward to reading more of this series as I loved the whole dynamic between the characters!
As always, Andrea has given me a book I couldn’t put down with a lot of witty and funny conversations, a good plot, interesting characters, and a desire to fall deeper into their world. Her characters always make me want more.
Nothing is as simple aa it seems and to prove their love for each other, they have to fight the odds. Much like the original Romeo and Juliet. However, their ending is so much better than the original’s tragedy.
I love a man who screams alpha male; and a woman who doesn’t take just follow along but has her own spine intact. Their dynamic, along with all the people in the family, makes for a completely entertaining story I’d love to read more of!
Not sure if lighter, but the book hits all the spots for a mafia romance.
- alpha males who invade your life - rival families who want you eliminated - touch her and die mentality
Yep has these and more. It’s why I was completely engrossed in it.
Nicky and Romeo have an interesting “meet cute” - he gets shot and she’s dragged along to save his life. Just an average day in the mafia world. Nicky’s life changes and she’s not sure if she should strangle or bang Romeo. His over protective vibe is driving her nuts but he’s so sexy. Can’t blame her. Romeo does his marking of the territory all the while trying to deflect rivals.
These two just stole my heart with their banter and steamy scenes. Some surprising twists there and the ending was left hanging because some things weren’t solved which makes me antsy for more books.
* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
This was amazing!! If you love Italian possessive alpha male and a fierce female you'll love this book!! Nicky and Romeo are from two different lives but Nicky finds herself thrust into Romeo's life on the very first day she meets him. Nicky is studying to be a nurse practitioner whilst Romeo is an underboss who decides Nicky is his at first looks! The spice in this book starts early!! And just gets 🔥 along the way!. The story line draws you in with a few surprises twists here and there. Can't wait for book 2
my review: I love mafia romance, especially when ℎ𝑒 falls first. The main female is a badass who can definitely take care of herself. Even if it’s against Romeo himself. Plus, I love his name. Ruthless but can be a softy when he wants to be.
I love Nicky’s character and the dark secrets of her past. I grew even more interested by the second. The cliffhanger at the end just left me craving more of this story. I can’t wait until the next book comes out.
If you love mafia dark romance, then this definitely is for you. Especially with some kink thrown into the mix.
Okay...okay this book 🥵 My god what a fast pace book, at ever turn something was happening and I bloody loved it. Nicky and Romeo relation urm....yes please. Who doesn't want a man who will kill a man for even looking at you !! My god there spice was something else and they just fit sooooo bloody well. I really enjoyed this book and honestly cant wait to get book 2 going because it still leaves you with some questions that needs answers. Please read this book it's amazing and there not anything you wouldnt love about it. I mean its Mafia 😂. Just enjoy 😁
Okay, so I really loved this book!!! Romeo and Nicky were both wonderful characters, and I enjoyed reading about their love story. This book had a great romantic/spicy storyline while also having a really amazing, action packed plot. Romeo definitely gives off “touch her and die” vibes, but that’s just part of his charm!!! And Nicky! She was confident and sassy and wasn’t afraid to hold her own. I highly recommend!!!
I genuinely don’t know how to rate this book. I couldn't even finish the first chapter. I DNFed at 6%—and yet somehow, I still feel like I lived through a literary trauma.
Let’s review the first two scenes:
The FMC, Nicky, gets kidnapped by the most unthreatening group of mafia clowns imaginable—and is genuinely worried about which bra she’s wearing. Minutes later, she’s performing surgery with gloves and scrubs that magically spawn out of thin air.
Romeo, the bleeding mafia underboss (I guess?), flirts mid-trauma, claims Nicky as "his woman" before even learning her last name, and drops life-changing one-liners like:
> “The only thing sterile is Sam if he pulls a gun on my woman again.”
Doctor Caruso dips mid-bullet removal to go find his glasses at home.
Sam, the body guard, is in 200 locations at once, possibly violating the laws of physics. One second, he's at the door, and the other is pulling a gun to Nicky's head on the other side of the room.
The dialogue reads like a first draft written on Wattpad at 2 a.m. during a sugar crash by someone who just learned what morphine is.
Would I recommend it? No. Would I reread it for the memes? Also, no. But will I ever forget it? Absolutely not.
This book was a circus. Romeo, Nicky, and Sam were the clowns. And I… was the unwilling audience.
⭐ 1 star for writing ⭐ 1 star for emotional damage ⭐ 5 stars for the unforgettable experience

OMG this book, putting it down to work or pay my husband attention went out the door. I had to finish it that day.. that is how good this book is. I mean really what is not to love about a Mafia GOD wanting you and will protect you at all costs. But the best lesson learned from this book is never I mean never tell an Italian woman you are full.
I love a good mafia book. A mafia book with Alphahole who ADORES the woman he wants??? And a woman who has her own mind and doesn’t fight just because??
Give it all to me!! I can’t wait for the next book.
Hahahah it was like asking chatgpt to write a mafia romance. I wanted a nice break after the heavy fantasy read so I didn't mind it! But yeah, it's not great. The story is so full of just tropes that the characters themselves are just caricatures of the genre.
I devoured this book like my life depended on it. Romeo and Nicky were EVERYTHING, give me a possessive mafia man and I’m sat. The last 20% of this book had me on the edge of my seat, the plot twists were insane. SO GOOD. 4.5 stars
