Reno, Nevada, may be the biggest little city in the world, but is it big enough for Joseph “Pound” Blackwell and two ghosts from his past?
The second the club secretary’s sister is taken, Pound makes an uncharacteristic knee-jerk decision and claims her. He thinks the biggest hurdle to overcome is her brother’s reaction… boy is he wrong.
The Phantoms expect a fight to bring Meri home. What they don’t expect is who they’re fighting and a disconcerting ally who can change the course of Pound’s future.
By the time the dust settles, the Desert Phantoms’ vice president will either be hitched to the woman of his dreams, or he’ll be the most miserable SOB on two wheels.
Can three chickens, two ten-year-olds, and one Elvis be the key to his happily ever after?

This was definitely my favourite of the series so far. While it still had some niggling things for me, the suspense part was way more prominent and I couldn't get enough, especially with the twists that the author threw in. It definitely made it hard to predict which way the plot and characters would go. I definitely wanted to shake sense into more than one. The reason for my rating is only because of a few questions I still have, and a few other minor things. It was definitely well done though. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.
This book was just meh. The two main characters spent very little time together because of Meri’s abduction. I don’t like when characters fell in love with one another off scene. There simply wasn’t enough of them together for me to feel much between them besides chemistry. There wasn’t even enough steam. Everything felt rushed and too short. I wanted to see more of them together interacting with the twins. The writing is nice overall and I liked seeing other characters.
He's not known for his cheery disposition. No one knows his back story except the prez. Trip is tight with his brother even without knowing the whole story. When Trip's sister is taken by an evil man, Pound instantly lets out his feelings and claims her for his own. Friend and brother aren't gonna happy this is the first he's heard about the two of them. Why didn't he tell Pound about his feelings for Trip's sister? That's gonna have to wait until they get her back.
History for both Pound and Meri isn't happy. She has two children and a brother, he has his club family. Neither ever planned to have another committed love. But then the best of plans...will they give in to each other and try again?
I've read the series to date and really like it. The author is new to me but I plan to keep reading her work. Club time and characters, steam, and enemies getting justice. I strongly recommend MC fans do the same.
This is my first book by this Author and it was absolutely fantastic. From the very beginning it had suspense and action and one heck of an OTT possessive and protective alpha male.
This is Pound and Meri’s story. Both have had a rough and abusive life and from the first time they met they had a connection they couldn’t understand. Afraid to act on their attraction because she’s a brothers sister and Pound is a member of the same MC club as her brother. Sisters are off limits without permission. But when Meri gets in trouble Pound steps over the line and claims her.
This definitely had all the feels and when you get their stories and when someone from the past is found to be not what was thought your emotions will go through the wringer. It’s heartbreaking, full of love and so much more. Am looking forward to reading more in this series and other books by this author. Highly recommend it!!
I'm loving these Desert Phantoms a ton, and as such, I'll be rereading these books over & over again in the future. Pound has quite the past which has left him damaged, and only one person in the club knows what it is, but it has Mari is one of his brother's sister, and things take a turn when she's been kidnapped, and that leads Pound to claiming her as a knee jerk reaction or is it?! I have to say Verlene Landon was definitely brilliant in the suspense factor with the unexpected twists coming from left field, and I'm still shook LOL! On top of that, there's this whole claiming of Mari, (remember she's the sister of one of Pound's MC) , and the undeniable chemistry that won't be stopped for long. This story took me on an exciting journey that I couldn't get enough of! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Pound and Meri Well lets see, this book takes us to where book 2 left off. There is confusion when Trip hears Pound refer to Meri (Trip’s sister) as HIS family. Rage ensues because this has not been discussed by the brotherhood. While a rescue plan is being developed by the Phantoms Meri is waiting and praying for help. There will be an unexpected twist in this plot and good job on the author because I did not see that coming at all. This story shares some past experiences and brotherhood connections and bonding in many ways. The characters are hot and sexy for sure. This is book 3 and directly connected to book 2 but could stand alone. I highly recommend this book as well as the series. Sisters Spotlight 💕
Pound and Meri story is an wonderful second chance at love journey. Pound has been guilty over an event that happen in his past. But when Meri is kidnapped he steps up and claims her. It will wake a part of him up and open his heart to changes. Meri is taken by someone who wants payment for a debt that not hers. She knows the Phantoms will find her but she must stay alive. The feelings they have for each other is incredible but they hide it until now. To see them overcome their problems and move is remarkable. I fall in love with them as they fight for each. I love all the twists they have to go through. And I can’t wait for more from this series.
Pound is the VP of the Desert Phantoms and has a backstory that eats him up and the only one to know the truth is his Prez. He has had eyes for Trip’s sister but figured he didn’t deserve happiness with her because of his past. Now that Meri has been taken by a lunatic and Pound is ready to let it known that he has had intense feelings for Meri and is ready to make her his old lady.
Now Pound’s past is crashing into his future. The twists and turns in this story were jaw dropping which made it a book that I couldn’t put down. I’m so glad that I got my HEA. I highly recommend this book.
This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Joseph / Pound and Meri’s story. Pound is the VP, and he is weighed down by guilt and is haunted by his past, and while he is attracted to Meri, Trip’s sister, he does not feel worthy of her. When Meri is kidnapped. Pound steps up and claims her. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with suspense, danger, intrigue, twists, second chances, challenges, family, friendships, intrigue, and love, which leads to a steamy and heartwrenching page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Another fabulous book in the Desert Phantoms MC series! I fell in love with Pound hard! I think he may be my favorite of the guys so far! I love Meri as well. I felt she was very relatable and her personality definitely fits with Pound's. There is plenty of great action and steamy scenes in this book. If you haven't read books 1 & 2 I highly recommend it so you know who the other characters are. I can not wait for the next book and I wonder who it will be about!
Book three in the Desert Phantoms MC Series. As the Vice President Pound he does not make harsh decisions. So when a brothers sister is in danger he claims her. Mari gets kidnapped for a debt her ex did. Now it’s up to the Phantom to protect her. She will stay alive for her twin and maybe for the love growing for pound. This series gets better and better. Each book makes you fall in love with the men of the Desert Phantom Mc.
I absolutely loved this book. It carries on after what happens at end of Trip. And we finally learn more about Pound. I couldn't put book down once started.
I loved Pound and Meri together, they have always had feelings for each other. But they both have pasts that stops them. But they get the nudge and promise themselves to give it ago. They really suit each other.
I couldn’t wait for this book to come out! Pound had a lot going on in his past life but something about Meri makes him put it aside. When someone kidnapped Meri before he got to claim her he just about went crazy. The story was so good I read it in one day! I hope to read more from Verlene Landon.
Well I never saw that coming, it was brilliant, this starts were Trip's book left off with Meri, Trip's sister being taken thanks to her ex's debts and Pound surprising everyone with his statement, there's plenty of twists and turns that'll make your head spin, I love Pound though.
This one is a heart getter. Pound and Meri are so good together but the past may kill them both. Throw in some adorable kiddos and you’ve got one great read. I love this MC and it’s loyalties.
Love this series Love this mc Meri and Pounds intense emotional broken heartstopping 2nd chance love story All the feels Ready for more Cant wait to see whos next
How can this series get any better? Well, it just did with Pound and Meri's story. Their story was a tough one to read. All the pain and hurt that they have both endured and the guilt Pound "Joe" faced from his past broke my heart. Then there is this incredibly strong woman, Meri, who fought to be who she needed to be for James and Crissy her precocious 9 year old twins. Granite, Trip and the rest of the MC are such an amazing family and brotherhood. I loved this story and how it continued the wonderful tale of all these incredible characters. I hope Tap gets his story told soon.

This book was really good. Pound had a great story to tell, I really enjoyed the suspense and the twists and turns. Each character gets better. I found a new author to enjoy.
Following on from Trip’s story, Book 2. Pound (VP for the Desert Phantoms) had been hiding his feelings for Meri (Trip’s sister). Now that she’s in danger, he can’t deny how much she means to him. Can he save her? Does she feel the same way about him?
