He met his husband in 1995 and they officially married in 2015, once gay marriage was legalized. In 2017, he and his husband sold their home, purchased an RV and began traveling the country with their two dogs. Their travels provide the inspiration and settings for many of his novels.
Typically, Blake can be found relaxing in the RV or by the fire with his laptop and their Jack Russell Terrier, Buddy, curled up between his legs demanding attention. Denver, their Siberian Husky mix is often asleep at his feet or playing tug of war with Blake’s husband.
Aiden Inspired (Apr 2019) is his first published novel, featuring two disparate characters from New York and Washington State who meet and develop an unlikely bond. This is the second book in the Big Bend series and tells more of Eddie’s story. Once again it drew me in from the first page.
Eddie, who is partners in the ranch with Flex (whose story was told in the first book) meets Alex, a film producer, when he travels to the ranch to scout film locations. While they don’t hit it off at first due to a case of mistaken identity which puts them at odds, Eddie and Alex are soon feeling an attraction that develops into a relationship. They are helped along the way by Eddie’s sons, his ranch family who again appear in this book and Alex’s family when he goes home with him. Again some intriguing ghostly ancestors make an appearance to protect them from danger, in the form of Eddie’s ex-wife and her boyfriend, who threaten their happiness.
Both Eddie and Alex are sweet, lovely and genuine characters who find themselves helping the past even as they find their own happiness.
An enemies to lovers story with some heat, angst and a touch of the paranormal which I found very enjoyable and I can’t wait to read the third part of the series. Highly recommend giving this series a go.

Wow! Again
The first book in this series threw me for a loop in that it introduced me to a whole subculture in West Texas and Juarez, Mexico--and held my interest despite the fact that I am not a person who reads books that include ghostly apparitions.
Still, I consumed it because of the characters--who are superbly developed--and the plot, which is more than a bit out of this world.
I can heartily say that this book is equal to, if not better than, the first because the main character, Eddie, is so completely developed and sympathetic as to make you wonder if it might be a bit overdone.
But then the other MC, Alex, kicks in and brings in his whole large, boisterous, wealthy and loving family and what you have on our hands is a universe that is of both this world and another, and you simply can't get enough.
Brilliantly done, cannot wait for the last one in the series to pop onto my Kindle.

Set largely on a generational West Texas ranch in the shadow of Big Bend National Park, "Love's Heirloom" continues the sweeping family saga that began with Flex and Mitch's story in Book 1 of this series. Here, the focus is on Flex's cousin and single dad Eddie and movie producer Alex, who is filming on the ranch.
Family takes the forefront in their story - Eddie's, Alex's, and their ancestors - as some mysteries from Book 1 are solved while others deepen. Ghostly apparitions, indeed! Untangling the family history and mystery of Diamondback Jack is especially compelling, bittersweet, and tugs at the heartstrings.
Longtime ranch caretakers Emma Jean and Jimmy also feature more prominently here, and Eddie's two young sons and Alex's lively and involved family are wonderful and integral additions to the series. I also enjoyed the interesting bits of area history spanning both sides of the border.

This is the Big Bend Series Book 2. I enjoyed this story of Eddie and Alex even more than the first book. This book continues a few years after Love's Legacy and includes most of the fun quirky characters from book 1. You get to meet Alex's family and there just as crazy as Eddie's. There is more danger, apparitions, and romance, what more can you ask for? I highly recommend the series.

Action!
The action and heat explode in book 2 and it is everything! This story has so many wonderful twists and turns I stayed up way too late reading. I want to take a vacation and go stay on the ranch because it sounds like such an interesting place to be. Hints of the sweetness from book 1 are throughout with more light being shed on their ancestors. Getting ready to download book 3. Can't wait!!!

I have read the whole series and I thought this book was just as good as the first if not better. Alex and Eddie get off to a bad start due to Diamondback Jack but they figure it out and learn that they are stronger together than apart. I like the way the author has spun stories from the past to encompass the present and future. The books have touches of the paranormal and it makes it all the better for me. Liked the new characters and loved seeing the old characters again/

Eddie lives with his two sons at the farm that Mitch his cousin had inherited after his grandparents and won a lawsuit against Eddie’s mother for the property. Eddie’s mother has tried to turn Eddie against Mitch and that had lead to them being unable to speak together for many years. Before Mitch decided to finally take the step to move back to the ranch and make it work properly. Mitch gave Eddie co-ownership off it as they both had been pretty much inseparable since they were young and before the battle of the inheritance.
When a film director named Alex comes to the small town Eddie is suddenly starting to have weird visions/imaginary visions of a person that looks almost identical to the director something that puts Eddie on edge and his behavior toward the guy seems hostile and not nice. Until he has a second vision that changes his opinion of the person. Alex is of Mexican heritage something that makes his work to find a proper film location difficult as his father and family want the location to be specified on a location that has a history related to their country and language.
Since the man that had tried to kill Mitch in the first book still is on the run and no were to be found, Eddie and the others are still on edge a month past the incident and doing anything to protect each other from the danger of a repeat of the attack. But as Eddie and Alex start to get to know each other feelings start to bloom between them but since Eddie is still legally married to his children’s mother he hesitates and also doesn’t want to start a new relationship before he is officially divorced.
To not spoil any other content of the book I will leave my review here by saying as I picked Eddie as my favorite character of this series after reading the first book I were really happy to know he would get his own story and its a blast reading about his side of the story point and I’m looking forward to reading the third book in the series once it comes out! This is a slow-burn love story that gives the characters just as in the first book in this series time to get to know each other while they explore the possibility for something more than just a friendship.
I highly recommend this series as it's an easy read with a lot of American / Mexican stories in it that is pretty interesting to read.

This Big Bend #2 takes place right after the first book and although Eddie (or Effi, if your Flex) with his two kids begins to have visions and dreams just like his cousin. After seeing and talking to a tall Mexican who says he was hired to protect the site of an old gold mine on their families property, Eddie gets into a whole weird space because after Flex got shot, they never found the shooter and he is and always has protected his cousin, he thinks this man maybe the shooter.
When another man who looks so much like the other shows up, Eddie doesn't want him around. Till his dreams tell him to trust that one who comes.
The story, although paranormal in some ways, really is more of a family sage that intertwines families that never knew each other. Just ghost appear, dreams are had, evil people kidnap and torture others, the cartel is involved, the sheriff is involved, movie-making, sex, family-building, and love round out this very fully realized western story of cowboys, Mexican-Americans, family history and just plan old finding family even when blood has nothing to do with it.

First of all I am going to rate this book a 5/5. I have read books by this author before and enjoyed them. This one did not let me down. This story is about Eddie, a married archer with two young boys and Alex, a very handsome movie producer. The first time Eddie and Alex meet is not good. Eddie thinks Alex is trying con him. But Alex ends up using his ranch for a movie. The two men become friends. Alex would like more but Eddie has a wife. That is one problem and his boys is another. Eddie makes them his priority, so Alex must take from Eddie what he gets. There is a ghost that gives Eddie advice about how to proceed. Eddie’s wife is not a good person and does not want Eddie to be happy. So even when Eddie decides he is open to Alex, the two men have a lot to work through. I am glad I read this book.
