Not with My Brain You Don't

Doctor Griff Wooden, is a tall, handsome, schmoozer who lives by himself in a high-rise condo overlooking Chicago's Lake Shore Drive. He practices cardiology in the oldest hospital in Chicago, Chicago General Mercy Hospital. Previously a mental hospital, it's a quaint, soft red-brown structure with ornate trim that seems out of date among the new buildings in a glitzy health-maintenance plaza. The look of the hospital suggests home-spun, straight talk medicine and indeed each day lives are saved with the help of a miracle drug developed by Doctor Wooden that prevents heart attacks. However, what goes on behind these sterile walls is anything but trusting and warm, for a psychopath is at work maneuvering to get what he wants, taking the lives that have been saved, even if it means harming and killing some patients along the way.

This book follows a man named Griff who is a cardiologist working in an old mental institution, turned into a hospital. To make things more creepy, Griff has a problem with lying, manipulating and threatening his way to the top. Even if it means hurting people along the way. His goal is to make a drug that would change the health of many peoples hearts. But at what cost?

This is a dark thriller that has many twists and turns you just don't see coming. I thought it was cool that Richard Tenney used his experience from his medical doctor's background. In his bio, he even says that some of the story is factual. I wonder which parts. I would rate this book a 5/5 for his thrill and excitement Richard poured into this book.

Not With My Brain, You Don't
A Novel by Richard Tenney is a well written book. This novel has some of the most emotional moments. Some of the emotions swing low, some get your adrenaline flowing pretty fast, and sometimes there are the elements of shock.
Details of the book are also very vivid. You're drawn into the story as if you're there.

The rating on the book, based on a scale of 1-5, is certainly a 5* Rating.

It takes a really wonderful book to pull me into it and hold my attention. This one has certainly done that!

Two thumbs up to Richard Tenney!

Griff Wooden is a brilliant and upcoming doctor. He can’t understand why everyone is out to get him. No one else comes anywhere near his stature. Well, as far as he is concerned they don’t. Everyone around Griff knows that he is a psychopath. He has proven it time after time. But according to Griff, they are all just jealous. As he squashes them one by one on his way to the top, it never occurs to him that it could all blow up in his face. As he gains more and more power, he discovers how fast the tide can turn.

I liked how this storyline kept me wondering if the main character truly was a psychopath or not. As the story proceeded though, I thought he developed into a whole different level of disturbing. This author knows how to balance the medical jargon needed to keep me interested. It’s disconcerting to think about practicing doctors with hidden agendas for personal gain. I enjoyed the bit of humor that was interspersed throughout the story.

Never found such a horrible villain in a story that equals the idea of psychopath then Dr. Griff from the book Not My Body, You Dont. This book is equally thrilling and something for anyone that likes a main being the main villain type of story. This book is written by Richard D.Tenny, which has a unique writing style and something to read more from.

I would give this book a mix bag of beans. I have both dislikes and likes about the book. The book started off telling the recounts of Dr.Griff and how made it to being a great doctor. I was very sympathetic and wanted the doctor succeed. From dealing with his professor to going to Kenya. I was intrigued on what he learned and how he saved someone. But over when he dark side came out throughout the story I thought it got more interesting until the end. There was some winning moments but than gave a disappointing ending.

This one somewhat farcical, which was unusual. A good first mystery book by Tenney.
