Curiosity based on the cover - not a bad story. There are others by same author that are better, but I did surprisingly enjoy this one once they got past the abuse stage.

THE REVIEW
Another case where the cover caught my eye and I just couldn’t resist buying the book.
If you have a spare 20 minutes and want to learn something about pony play in the context of a fictional story, this might just be the book for you.
Sean and Drew are friends—not lovers, just old friends from college. Sean is into the BDSM lifestyle but Drew has absolutely no interest. Even though Sean knows this, he invites Drew to a pony weekend event at a local horse farm. Drew adamantly refuses until Sean tells him there is a 99% probability that he’ll have sex. Since Drew hasn’t been laid in a long time, that’s enough to convince him to say yes and go along for the day.
They arrive at the event and it is a veritable beehive of activity of horse and pony fetishists. Vendors are selling all sorts of horse-related paraphernalia (all leather) and people are parading around in various states of undress in their pony and master outfits. I chuckled a little at the descriptions—there are men there with fat bellies and tiny cocks and women with saggy boobs—in other words, average looking folks, out for a fun weekend at the horse farm.
Drew is about to bolt and go wait for Sean in the car when suddenly he is in the barn, with a groom dressing him up in pony gear. Drew is really not enjoying this and by the time he gets out to the paddock with all the other newbie ponies, he’s pissed off enough to be labeled as a “frisky pony” and gets a whipping—a serious whipping. One of the more experienced players realizes this is way out of line and takes Drew back into the barn to apply some horse liniment to his welts and…well, you can imagine where the story goes from there.
This is a straight forward, very short story about a kink that is (I am told) very common in the leather/BDSM community. It’s told in an open and non-judgmental way, that is, not trying to convert anyone to the lifestyle but at the same time, not saying that it’s wrong. The author makes the point that, for many people, pony play is a source of sexual satisfaction and pleasure.
If you are at all curious about this aspect of the BDSM lifestyle, this story might appeal. Beyond that, it probably has a pretty limited range of interest, which is the reason for my 3.5 star rating. If the idea of pony play totally squicks you out, stay away.
Drew isn't into bdsm or fetish play, but his friend Sean talks him into going to a 'pony play' weekend, where they sign up for a beginner class in submission -- dressed as a ponies. Drew is beginning to think this is really a spectacularly bad idea when he is rescued from a nasty ill-mannered dominant by gentle, sexy Phillip. All of a sudden, acting like a pony -- or at least acting like Phillip's pony -- doesn't seem like such a bad idea.
JM Snyder writes with such delicate precision that the reader finds even a strange kink like pony play suddenly understandable, sexy and maybe even desirable. She describes Drew's feelings, both emotional and physical, so believably that by the end of the story, the reader has traveled from one end of a spectrum of feelings to the other. It's all done with a subtle sense of humor that makes us laugh and sympathize and finally cheer for Drew as he finds an ending he had no idea he wanted.
Dew pretty much like his sex vanilla and is not into fetish or bondage at all. He hasn’t been laid in a while, so he gives in at his friend Sean’s urging to join him at a fetish camp that weekend featuring pony play. This was a fast paced well written story about a man that gives in to go experiment with his friend. I sort of had it all figured out that it was a way to for his friend to get him to have sex with him. I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. I was totally unfamiliar with the fetish of pony play and found this story explained it very well without being overly technical or teachy. The story was good, and the sex very hot. If your wanting to learn more of some of the fetishes out there this is a good place to start. I enjoyed the book! Recommendations: If you like fetish, especially pony play, light bondage, and hot MM sex this one is for you.
This is a very light BDSM book. It is the beginning training of the character into Pony Play. It is a very romantic love story. It was a very quick read, but I did enjoy the book.

3.4 stars Very hot between Drew and Phillip, but I sorta low-key hate Sean for being a bag of dicks to his friend. And the groom was pretty dickish. Don't even get me started with that asshole "beginning class" trainer -- Drew shoulda kicked him in the groin with his hooves...
This was just okay for me. It lost a star because there was no thought or mention of safe sex. It totally pulled me out of the story, worrying about STDs.
