Hahahaha I dug this one up from the back of my closet…and actually learned so many more tips and tricks than I was expecting! Who knew these American Girl books could be so helpful to not just 9 year old me, but also 15 year old me??? This book is going to help me budget better in the future and not spend all my money at once (kinda like what I just did this past weekend)…

I really like this book. I teaches you to be your self and do your own style. I like this book because it gives you ideas and it tells you what looks best and how it would look the best. I like the ideas it gives me and I would love to read it soon.

I was disappointed to find this book wasn't as grounded and practical as other books in the series. Sure, it did define fashion and several types of clothing. What was left out was underwear. Really? That was the one topic budding girls would probably have the most questions about, and that was the one the book shied away from. If books in this series can talk about shaving, they could certainly cover the myriad options of female underpants. Boo on a missed opportunity.

Good book for the basics of fashion and style. Like very basic. I liked how the types of clothing were described. Boatneck and scoop neck look very similar to me. Wish they added in a couple more styles.

I've always loved the Smart Girl Guides, and this one was my favorite as a kid. It still holds up, as long as you dress like you're from a 2012 Disney Channel show...
