A writer of books for young readers, in 1964 Maia Wojciechowska wrote the book "Shadow of a Bull", which was named the Newbery Medal winner in 1965.
In 2002 she died of a stroke in Long Beach, New Jersey. She was seventy-four years old.

Short tales and fables of Poland..Borrowed this fro my Polish heritage. This was depressing as he__> Angels getting their wings cut off etc. OMG. Reminded me of a German Fairy Tale book a friend of mine has.It is from 1800's and her grandmother read it to her.She is 60 and still has nightmares abt the German fairy tales. Horrible book. So is the Poland book.
