Faster than a speeding tricycle, more powerful than shoelaces tied in a double knot, able to clean sticky milk spills with a single paper towel! Is there breakfast on the table that needs to be eaten? Does a cute little doggie need to be walked and its messes cleaned up? Would the world be a better place if a certain bedtime story were read thirteen times in a SUPER LOUD voice? Looks like a job for.... SUPERSISTER! And no one needs a super sister more than a pregnant mommy who loves to give kisses and has trouble bending down to tie her own shoes. This spunky gal proves to the world that you can start being a super sister even before the new baby arrives. And the best part of life as a super sister is spending your nights dreaming of your adventures teaming up with your favorite side kick, SUPERBABY!

So, I am about 5 months pregnant, and my girls are all excited about having a new baby in the house. I think, for siblings, anticipating the new baby is actually way better than having the new baby, which is why we moms need to make the most of the excitement while it lasts. I'm not saying that siblings don't love their baby brothers and sisters. It's just that babies require lots of time and attention and are really fragile so you can't shove them in baby stroller with your Barbies and parade them down the sidewalk or drag them around the house by the ankle like you do with your favorite doll the way you imagined you would be able to do. Supersister is a great book for helping families take advantage of that magical time when the baby is still just a twinkle in everyone's eye and a pain in mom's lower back. As a mom, my favorite part of the story is that supersister's best super power is thinking up ways to help her mom. My daughters' favorite part is when supersister steps in dog poo and that the dog's name is Poopsie.

3 SUPER STARS

XD

Childlike illustrations and a superhero theme celebrate a little girl who is "super" at helping her growing family around the house. This one definitely celebrates life's little achievements throughout the day.

Supersister is super cute! I love the almost comic book style of the book, as well as the eager attitude of Supersister. It's a great book for soon-to-be big sisters, or for older siblings (even any sibling) in general. Most appealing to preschoolers and early elementary school children as well.

I loved this. It was a great read for my grand kids who just had a new baby at their house. The illustrations are bright and energetic. Supersister is a great character full of spunk and tenderness.

Supersister is a book about a little girl taking the initiative to complete different tasks. Her mother is pregnant, so she helps relieve her by demonstrating her willfulness to prepare her own breakfast, walk to the bus stop, tie her mother's shoes, complete her school work, walk her dog, and complete other tasks. Everything she does is SUPER, and this is especially necessary because she will be a big sister soon. Therefore, her mother will need her help even more. This book can relate to students who are the older sibling in helping their parents by taking the initiative to get different jobs done.

'Supersister' is a great book about an older sister to be. She helps out her mother as much as she can while she is carrying her baby and takes on plenty of responsibilities happily. I would include this book within my classroom because it teaches students to help their moms when they need, appreciate their position as a sibling, sister and also shows responsibility. The illustrations are in comic form as well, so I would say the intended audience would be 3rd grade and older. Loved this book!

This was a cute book, if not a bit of wishful thinking. I like that they make it seem heroic and cool to be an older sibling and help out mom. I don't think siblings are going to spend their every waking moment thinking of ways to help Mom out, no matter how lovely that would be.

When a young child has a sibling on the way, they usually are very excited and want to do anything they can to help. This book depicts this situation perfectly, and as an older sibling myself, I'm sure I would have helped my mom in any way I could if I was a little older.

I thought it was a cute story, and I'm glad we find out why she's so insistent on helping her mother in the end. Cute story, cute message, good drawings. I'd probably have this in my classroom for helping younger kids become super-siblings if they are having/have siblings.

This book is SUPER cute! I think it would be great for younger kids especially ones with younger siblings so around 1st grade kids would be good. Illustrations are adorable and super fun.

Supersister is a super helper in her family, especially to her very pregnant mom.

The big-sister-to-be in this story is probably around 6 years old, so she can do some things (like tie her mom's shoes) that my daughter can't, but we still love this funny tale of a little girl who is a superhero to her family as they prepare to welcome a new baby.

Supersister can do just about anything! Almost.

I'll admit it, I'm baffled by this Junior Library Guild selection. Maybe I didn't read it in the right frame of mind. Maybe I'm blind to an integral element. Maybe I just don't get it.

There's nothing offensive, off-kilter, or odd about the book. But there's nothing intriguing or particularly entertaining about it, either. It was just... a story about a little girl trying to be super, preparing for the impending birth of a sibling.

And I guess that's why some people like this one: it's good to share with a child who is about to become an older sibling. I guess. Hmm. Is there someone out there who loves this book? Convince me, 'cause I'm just not gettin' it.

A pleasant story, and though I was a little confused because no other sibling was mentioned until nearly the end of the book, one I can expect to give as 2nd or 3rd baby presents. Everything about this book was energetic and exciting for young people to listen to and hopefully, model themselves after while anticipating a younger sibling.

While Supersister doesn't have traditional superhero powers like flying and X-Ray vision, there are TONS of ways she can be helpful while mom is expecting a new baby! Kids will enjoy the superhero narration of her day to day activities (all undertaken wearing a mask), and anyone who's ever put a kid to bed for the night will get a kick out of how Supersister (almost) tucks herself in.

Cute story about very energetic girl, who helps her expecting mother with chores in the house before and after school. Obviously, she is trying to prove that she can be the best sister to her sibling because she can do almost everything. Good book for Pre-K or K students.

Cute story about a girl who is dressed for play and is a super helper to her mother while they wait for the new baby brother to come. She helps with tying mother's shoes and going to school and being supported by mother's watchful eye and kisses.

This is a good book to show how to act when someone is expecting a baby in the family. Helps the students to know they need to help their mom and obey their dad.
