Hey, sports fans!

Avery here, comin' at you live from Colorado, home of my dad-and the first-ever Telluride Snurfer Snowboarding Competition! With mascot dog Marty at my side, I'm totally psyched to compete. But this trip is getting CRAAAZY. As in Crazie Kazie, the all-star boarder who wants to win as much as I do. The only thing crazier is her cat, Farkle...aka Franken-cat!

I just might score some coaching tips from a certain celeb. And shout-out to my new friend, Jason-he loves animals, like me. You won't believe the creature he's keeping in his shed...it's almost ready to be released into the wild.

Shred on,

Avery

The Beacon Street Girls books are inspired by all the preteen girls I've ever known. I wanted to create a world where girls can go to have fun and learn about who they are, while modeling real-life experiences. The first book, Worst Enemies/Best Friends, explores creating and testing friendships, skewed first impressions, and being the new kid at school. In the end, true friendship conquers all. Welcome to the world of the BSG!

Avery and Marty fly on plane to Telluride. Well they were their they met Avery dad girl friend: Andie and her’s daughter Kazie. Kazie and Avery both compete in competition for snowboard at Telluride. Kazie was not allow compete because couldn’t found her’s board. She though Avery stolen her board, but instead Avery’s friend Jason did. Avery got five place at Telluride competition. She have to leave dad to go back to BSG. All the BSG miss her, and happy to see her. Was very good book to read.

Mine: What a wonderful series for young girls. My only question is how can the parents be so clueless as to your daughters feelings (it’s usually the dad that doesn’t get it). Avery’s dad is now got a girlfriend and with that comes her daughter Kazie that is the enemy. Kazie seems to have taken Avery’s job at the ski shop and is her competition in the Snurfer Snowboarding Competition
Avery also makes friends with Jason the new kid in town that everyone else wants to know about also. Jason is a quiet kid with lots of with lots to hide the most interesting thing is the hawk he is caring for.

3.75 As part of the Beacon Street Girls (BSG) Special Adventure series, the story is told from one of the BSG's perspectives - in this case Avery. Avery visits her father in Colorado and is looking forward to snowboarding in the Telluride Snurfer Snowboarding Competition, but learns that her father has a girlfriend, who in turn has a snotty and extremely talented snowboarding daughter. Then Avery meets the new boy in town, Jason and they begin to form a friendship. Competing in snowboarding and for her father's attention start to wear on Avery, but she deals with her problems maturely. This is a fun realistic fiction story and will appeal to snowboarding and animal fans (Jason and Avery have several pets). Snowboarding terms are bolded and then a glossary, pointing to the page where the word was first used, is located at the end of the book. Also included is a quiz, an interview with a hawk, and facts about
Colorado.

Fun and interesting but a little sappy. Considering Avery's crazy, sports-loving character, you'd think the book centered in her point of view would be chock-full of athletic action but not really. In the book, Avery flies to Telluride, Colorado to visit her dad and enter the Snurfer (snowboarding competition) while meeting some "wacky" characters. Even though there's a glossary in the back, I'm pretty sure people don't use the snowboarding lingo as much as Avery does because I don't even understand it. I like Avery because she's all about the environment and cares about animals and because she's the only Korean you'll ever see in all of the series. She doesn't look it but she actually is. But that's the only time you'l see that.

This is also a good BSG book about Avery and she goes and lives with her dad for winter break and she is a god snurfer (its like snowboarding) and she meets a friend that she helps...... I cannot say anymore because I dont want to ruin it for people who want to read it.

Refreshing read for all the serious books I now read. I read this series two years ago and finished the books out so far except for this one. Now I've read it and I still remember what I loved about this series before I became infatuated with fantasies.

This was a book given to my daughter Avery for Christmas. I'm trying to stay a bit ahead of the game with her reading so I thought I'd read it quickly before she did. It was okay. I think she'll love it.

I love this book because the girl's name is Avery just like me and we have a lot in common. We both like winter sports, hot chocolate (well, almost everyone likes hot chocolate), we don't like pop, lots of other things. I loved this book.

I really enjoyed Avery's adventure! Can it be that the girl who doesn't like sport (AKA, me) thinks that this might be her favorite Special Adventure novella? Hm... what has this world come to?
