This one was a pretty emotional tense read. I haven't read one of these books for basically 7 months now, and I loved getting back into the world. It was definitely a spur-of-the-moment read, as I saw it on my shelf and it counted for 3 different challenges. Super pleased about that! I found that myself, like Amy, was (view spoiler) ...more

I couldn't help but get a bit frustrated with this book, it was all 'racehorses are highly strung' and it's like; Amy, you're a horse trainer, get on with it!! But other than that, it was pretty good!

Heartland Farm has just taken on its most famous client yet - racehorse Gallant Prince, who was injured in a barn fire and has now become completely unmanageable. The key to Prince's recovery seems to lie in his former groom, Ryan, who was blinded and burned in the same fire. The struggle to overcome a traumatic experience for horse and human strikes a chord with Amy, who recalls working with Spartan after the accident that killed her mother, and the need to heal before moving on is reflected in ...more

Read all the Heartland books when I was younger and remember really loving them and harrassing my parents to buy more and more. Re read them recently and still love them as much as I did before!
As they're aimed at younger audience they are not really challenging, rather a quick and easy but enjoyable read for hores lovers!

After reading the first 5 in this series back to back, I was starting to get annoyed when i started a new one because there was always all these explanation for stuff that happened in the previous book, that I had just read. This one only explained some details which was refreshing and allowed me to enjoy the book a lot more.
