I can't think of a time when non-fiction writing has transported me to another time and place like this book about the Taj Mahal has done. I can't stop thinking about it.

So, of course I had heard of the Taj Mahal, but I knew next to nothing about it. I will blame that on graduating early from high school and missing world history. Or maybe just my lack of attention. I had just finished reading a book about China's Great Wall and saw that it was part of a series that included a book about the Taj Mahal. I figured, "Why not?" but when I went to get that book, the library didn't have it so I just randomly chose another book called "The Taj Mahal."

Beautiful photography, close-ups of the artwork. This book covers culture, history, architecture as well as an amazing love story. I can't recommend it highly enough.
