Dinosaur red, dinosaur blue, dinosaur yellow…and purple, too! As they chomp bones, munch leaves, jump in the air, and leave bright paw prints everywhere, Paul Stickland’s delightful dinos offer a humorous and fun introduction to colors. And at the end, the creatures all come together in a gloriously vivid prehistoric panorama. What a colorful finish! With its very simple text, appealing art, and adorable characters, this will become a favorite with toddlers.

This is a variation on a favorite at our house -- Dinosaur Roar! -- but I think it's missing some of the charm of its predecessor. For one thing it recycles a lot of the same art, and for another the new art seems kind of rushed and doesn't quite match the quality of the older. Anyway, it was passable and gets the job done as a colors primer, it's just nothing super special.
This is a simple but captivating book. It features engaging characters in colors across the spectrum. It might've been nice for each page to identify the dinosaur featured, maybe somewhere on the bottom. But factual or not, we've enjoyed having conversations about what each dinosaur is doing on the page (eating, roaring, hiding, walking, etc)
