ROSALIND NOONAN grew up in suburban Maryland and enjoyed being part of a large family. "With my four siblings, Saturday mornings were a blast," she says. "There was festival seating on the living room floor as we devoured cartoons and passed the Sugar Pops."

She caught the writing bug in second grade when she won first place in a poetry contest. "The prize was twenty dollars," she recalls. "That was big bucks for a second grader. I thought I was going to Disneyland." Wooed by the taste of fame and fortune, she kept writing.

After attending Wagner College in Staten Island, she remained in New York City where she worked as an editor for various book publishers. Noonan currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, a retired cop from the NYPD, and two children. Although she sometimes misses the rapid pulse of New York, she enjoys writing in the shade of towering two-hundred year old Douglas fir trees.

Kate and her friends are looking forward to their senior year in high school. They've set many goals to accomplish and the first is that all four need to have boyfriends. This shouldn't be a problem for Kate except that the one guy she wants doesn't even know she exists.

It's Kerri's senior year and she is determined to make it a perfect one for her and her friends (Jessica, Maya, and Erin- friends since forever). A silly bet made by her friends leads her to finally make a move on someone she actually truly has feelings for... it can this perfect love really last? In addition to that, Kerri has to learn how to balance her relationship with her internet obsessed brother and eclectic yoga mom as well as figuring out a new relationship with someone she thought was out of her life forever. As if that weren't enough, a tragic event happens to a friend that leaves Kerri scrambling to try and help and fix things.
In the first book of the Turning Seventeen series, Kerri's senior year with her friends gets off to an interesting and at some points rock start.
Way back in high school I found this series when I bought book #9 of the series, but at the time I guess I didn't realize it was a series? Now in my late 20s, feeling some nostalgia for my youth, I decided to read the whole series. It really was a cute book. I like how it doesn't shy away from real issues that high school girls would be facing.
