One of the most well-kept secrets in the Archie-verse is Betty's diary. The stories contained within, thought to have been forgotten by time (and torn-out pages), are finally collected from the famous Betty's Diary comic book series for your reading pleasure! Ever a journalist-in-training, Betty wrote down nearly every important event which occured in her life, and kept it under lock-and-key in her precious journal; stories involving romance, adventure, and betrayal. All of Riverdale's cast is represented in this hilarious new addition to the Archie All-Stars library, and unbeknownst to them, all of their secrets will be revealed in this exciting volume! Veronica would LOVE to get her hands on it - wouldn't you?!
-What does Betty's mom do? Business suit... Didn't recognize her first appearance, a story later--the design I know. Is anyone keeping track of the parent designs?
-Geez, these "Little Archie" stories need to watch themselves. This is first time I've seen a contradiction that I can remember. The story here says Betty and Veronica were friends and then Archie moved into the neighborhood. The story in one of my digests is that Veronica was the one who moved in. WHAT IS THE TRUTH???
-Betty gets kind of deep sometimes. And historical.
-4 Polly sightings!!! (Betty's older sister is usually super scarce.)
There are a number of stories in this trade paperback. They range back to when Betty was a child playing with dolls on up to Betty's relationship to her mother. In one story Betty has a nightmare about being attracted to Jughead. In another she helps a homeless person. There's a story about what Betty is considering about a possible future career and a story involving her sister. What the book does, basically, is to show just how nice a girl Betty is and how she is, truly, the girl-next-door type.
I admire Betty, but she is fighting hard for Archie. She goes to such great lengths. I personally don't ship Archie with anyone. I dislike that Betty wasn't considerate because all she cared about was Archie. Betty makes me so angry. I can't believe Betty and Veronica even used to be friends.
I think I’m going to have to buy a physical copy of this comic because it was just so funny, adorable, and interesting to read. I loved looking through Betty’s diary and the life situations she faces.
