a sweet story about a street doggo who finds glasses and wears them, eventually being taken in by a kind musician ~ not going to lie, this one pulls on my heartstrings 💕 i wish it was longer!
I liked the illustrations. It was about a homeless dog that found a pair of glasses and wore them. He got food and attention from all. When the owner located them, Socrates did not want to give them back because the had created happiness for him. The owner of the glasses took the dog in.
the magic that wearing glasses gives you, wish i'd had this wonderful book when i was a kid. the American hardcover edition i have has an illustration of Socrates (the dog) wearing a pair of read glasseson the cover and the artist, Gert Bogaerts, is credited on the cover as well.
The beginning of this book made me want to drive to the nearest animal shelter and scoop up every dog in sight. I'm glad the tone changes about halfway through and becomes more lighthearted. A sweet, quick read.
Cute book. Could be a good book to read prior to talking about shelter/homeless dogs and cats. It could also be something to use if someone just got glasses and is uncomfortable with them! A cute book for K-3.
