he man they call Edge is headed across the barren Utah desert when he runs headlong into a violent family struggle. A crazy grandfather, raving about the Second Coming, has a secret cache of several thousand dollars – the kind of money just bound to bring trouble. Trouble so big a father will shoot a son, outlaws will track and torture a woman, and a whole town could lose control in the grip of greed and fear. Even Edge’s cool head is put to the test on the small Wild West mining camp where the fastest trigger is law, and cold cash a stairway to heaven.

Rather short but still violent and a fun time. Edge gets waylaid by a landowner and his men. Beaten to a pulp and put on a horse to remove him. A young couple find him and bring him into their home. Not too long after that, some men who work for the landowner brings surveyors around to mark the land. The men get out of hand and take advantage of the woman so Edge steps in. He seems to be out a lot of money, so he sets out to collect it from the land baron.
People still keep pulling guns on Edge and he doesn't fucking like it. The 17th book I have read in this series and people still haven't learnt. Edge gets bashed to an inch of his life. The pain excruciating and his money stolen AGAIN. He is helped by a friendly young couple. He is evil, insane, bloody angry and wants his money back AGAIN. Edge uses his trusty razor into an eye socket and deeper into the brain. And gets to ride off for more I like that he is still a likeable character and this series is awesome.
I did enjoy this book a little better than the most recent. Overall, this series has been good. It has been getting a little more carried away as a recent, but again, overall a good western read.
