Jonathan’s Journey to Mount Miapu chronicles the adventures of a boy named Jonathan as he travels to the top of Mount Miapu and helps fight the battle to keep away the dark shadow threatening to destroy the very existence of the mountain. On this journey, Jonathan meets both allies and enemies, some of whom he already knows and some of whom he recognizes in alternate forms.

Definitely juvenile literature, of which I usually enjoy, but this one was not my cup of tea, but love the way Valladares uses the character of Ariella.
