3.5 stars. I enjoyed reading The Song and the Sorceress. There was lots of adventure and traveling on a quest, things that I like in fantasy stories, but at times it was slow and some of the adventure was predictable, which is why I didn't give it 4 stars.

I love when the romance develops slowly in a story, but in this one the romance developed a little too slowly for my liking. Overall I thought it was very good. The characters were all very likeable and by the end I felt connected to them. I

Started out a little slow due to character building, but couldn't put it down once it got going. I can't wait for a sequel.

I enjoyed this book so much that I ordered the next one in the series the minute that I was finished with it. I even wrote to the author to congratulate her on a wonderful read. I haven't read high-quest fantasy in a long time; they just weren't very exciting anymore.

When I started THE SONG AND THE SORCERESS I was greatly surprised, because there were so many great characters! I loved the main character the most. Ki'leah is a princess of Si'vad. She

Wow. This book, for me, was the ultimate proof that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover (a rule that I disregard over and over :P). Honestly, the cover is pretty terrible, and I was expecting the story inside to be mediocre at best. I was certainly proved wrong - and I'm so glad I took a chance on this! :)

The book started out as being just okay: it seemed fairly run-of-the-mill and predictable but the deeper I got into the story, the more interesting it became. There were several twists

Really overall thought this book should definitely be young adult. I found the plot rather boring and predictable and the main character a little immature. Not overly impressed, but I finished it since I bought it. I think the idea was good but could have been done a little bit more creatively. I will not be reading any of the further books as it just didn't captivate me enough at all. Out of the group of characters, I didn't feel any of them stood out much and were all very flat. The tomboy, ...more

Finished this and immediately bought the next one. I don't usually like travel stories that much, but this one was well done. Ki'leah showed realistic character growth. Although she played an important part at the end, it wasn't all about how she was so special. I especially liked the hints that this world has a lot of history.

Being lazy today so this isn't one of my better reviews. Basically I loved this book! I loved the cast of characters and the diversity they had. They all stood out as individuals but also as 3-D characters. The adventure was fun, the romance mature and nicely worked in without being rushed or disgustingly mushy.

I really enjoyed this and will be reading the next one. :)

Wow. Given that I've had this book finished for about 2 weeks, and I don't remember anything from it, it must not have been that good. On the other hand, I did finish it, so it couldn't have been terrible. Good to know.

First in a series, with not-your-average fantasy heroine princess. Went in directions I wasn't expecting, which is always good.

Solid fantasy. While I had a list of annoyances with details of world-building, the plot was gripping and I couldn't put it down.
