Ozark Weddings #3

Castles In The Air

Rate this book
Nori’s clock is ticking.   Nori’s biological clock has been going off forever, it seems. Loud and clear. She tries to tell herself that she isn’t really ugly…or fat…or useless. She’s a successful entrepreneur, after all! So where are the eligible, interested men in her life? They don’t seem to exist!   Zachary Martin knows he’s a nerd. He can’t even carry on a conversation with Nori without making a fool of himself—like when he choked on some candy in Nori’s store or bought the stupidest clothes to impress her. . .   Man looks on the outward appearance, but God sees the heart. Will Nori and Zachary ever see themselves—and each other—the way God does? Will they trust God or their self-help books to find true love?    "A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul." Proverbs 13: 19

Can teen girls relate to this book? Hmm, no, not really, but I’m a firm believer that we all need to be reminded that we are God’s one-of-a-kind creations—especially teen girls ought to be reminded of this fact! This had the humor of every Janice Thompson book and Zachary was so dorky, it was adorable. This was much better than any Hallmark movie. ;)

Painful book about a chubby candy shop owner who desperately wants to find a man to love. And her neighbor at the apartment complex is this total dweeb guy who has an eternal crush on her, and somehow screws everything up all of the time.

I wanted to like it, but... it just wasn't good. They're both miserable, so it's like the decide to team up and be miserable, together. R'something. It felt wrong, the whole way thru.

And the author's experience with geekdom seems to be with slapstick humor and three vague Star Trek references. Really?

Castles in the Air was a great book. It is the tale of Noreen Kelly and Zachary Martin. The thing I loved about Nori and Zachary the most were they were ordinary people. They aren't described as being beautiful/gorgeous (certainly not in their own eyes). Yet falling in love transforms their view of one another. To me, this book is a sweet journey on how you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

This was definitely a relatable book for me. 30 and over, wondering when you're turn will come. The main character struggled with this until she literally stumbled upon a guy that she never saw herself dating and they end up being what each other needs. Beautiful story! 4 stars!
