Hands down, this is one of the most informative and comprehensive science encyclopedias I've read for elementary age students. The illustrations are also detailed, informative, and engaging. I recommend the hardcover version of this book often (the softcover is quite thick and will fall apart with frequent use).

This book is cool, but is also hard to use as a reference. Even so, we pulled it out to supplement our science learning. Like all the Usborne books, it is great to look at and to engage the childs imagination in learning. ...more
