Whenever I read health books for women, I am struck by the fact that over half of the human race is female, and yet, so little is known, and so much is taken as watch and wait. I'm also always struck by how much women's health becomes a political battle ground. Having a hysterectomy is not a betrayal of one's sisters. Not breastfeeding is not a betrayal of the whole human race...(to be fair, this book doesn't advocate either of these positions), I've just been reading a lot of books of this type, and websites.
I gave this book 5 stars because it is unbiased and informative. I liked how the author went over options and what fibroids could be mistaken for. A must read for a woman who recently left the doctors office with no explanation just papers filled with medical jargon.
I desired to know the other methods besides hysterectomy since my aunt is looking at alternatives and had a friend that resulted to the hysterectomy because her medical insurance covered it.
