Two nights. No names. No expectations. A lifetime of consequences.
Graduating from law school means finally stepping into my destined role in the Hawke empire. But before I head home to NOLA to settle into the family's multi-billion-dollar business, I need one night to celebrate. Ideally with the redhead who won’t stop eye-fucking me from across the bar. I never intend it to turn into an entire weekend in bed with her. Yet, somehow, that’s exactly where we end up. There are only two rules—no names and no expectations. Easy to agree to at the time. Impossible to abide by once I realize how incredible she is. One night isn’t enough. Not even two are. A lifetime won’t be. We fell into the unexpected, and it will change everything.
Night Hawke is the prequel to The Hawke Family Second Generation Series. Grab this steamy story about a two-night stand between a billionaire heir attorney and the mystery woman running from her life who becomes so much more.
*Night Hawke starts the second generation of the Hawke Family but it it not necessary to read the first generation*
I have read a few books from this amazing author. She continues to blow my mind on her writing style. This is the prequel to the next generation series of the Hawke family. I was so excited to get this story I stopped everything and started reading it immediately. I was so addicted it only took me a couple hours to read this amazing start to another amazing series.
Hawke just graduated law school and now he has to go into the family business. He has only one more night and he is going to make it count. Hawke spots this beautiful redhead that can’t keep her eyes off of him. He spends the night with the beauty but he never got her real name and when he wakes up she is long gone. Will he ever find her again or will he have to move on without her?
OMG what a fantastic tease for what I am 100% positive is going to be an absolutely amazing series!!! I can't wait to read more, so much so that I went and pre ordered the series start straight away!! The characters are fantastic with off the charts hot chemistry...what was to be one night turns into two and just when you start to think he definitely wants more she leaves! She is the sexiest woman he has ever had and I just know he isn't going to give up on her! Bring on the next book PLEASE!!!!!!
Isaac is spending his last couple of nights in town before he heads home to New Orleans to work with family. He sees a stunning red head in a bar and decides he just found the woman to spend time with as the countdown begins. The chemistry is intense from the minute he speaks to her and every touch leads to wanting more, but it's just for one night, right?
The prequel to Ruthless Hawke and oh my gosh you want more of their story. Sizzling chemistry between Jack and Isaac. You want to know more and see where the story goes, can't wait to read this full story.
Whew….is it just me or is it hot af in here? These two were so hot my ebook was melting. They meet at a bar, and agree to one night together, which turned to two nights, because they were that hot for each other, and you can’t fake that kind of chemistry, fake names and all the heat. These two despite their fake names two-night stand situation, they just go together like they were fated to meet. I loved them together, their bold, and passion for each other sucked me in like quick sand. And despite how short their time was together, they had so many feels. When she left, and he was chasing her down the street…I felt his pain at the loss, and for a guy that doesn’t get attached, it was quite a loss…kinda broke my heart for him. So…obviously I am onto their actual book…wish me luck….I think I’m gonna need it.
Great addicting read, with a couple that was bold, hot and couldn’t get enough of each other with some crazy af hot chemistry, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. They tugged at my heartstrings, and I can’t wait to read their full book.
Eeeeekkk! Holy Hotness! I need soooo much more! What a tease! What awesomeness! What a way to have me drooling from the very first page. I don’t know if I need a cold shower or want to read that again! Coin toss for sure, I definitely need more.
I love love these two characters. The spice they bring to this short lived relationship was incredible! The chemistry flew off the pages. I couldn’t read fast enough and yet, I was like holy sugar, did I read that paragraph right? I need to read that scene all over again. Jack is a complete mystery. She gives a fake name to enjoy a bit of fun before her family starts looking for her. And Nolan, fake name too, needs a little more fun before he is tied to his families responsibilities! And boy did these two have fun!!! The elevator scene!!! 🔥😍🥵 I am soooo ready for more!!! Can’t wait to see where this story goes!
Okay, so this was definitely an intriguing start to a new series!!! “Night Hawke” is the prequel to the Hawke Family Second Generation series, and it definitely made an impression on me. Isaac and Jack agree to one night, but he soon realizes that one night with her isn’t going to be enough for him. Isaac seems like a take charge kind of guy, and I loved how attentive he was towards Jack. I thought Jack seemed like a sweetheart, I could tell there was something going on with her family that might not be necessarily good. I’m intrigued by both of them, and since this novella ended on a cliffhanger, I’m really excited to see what happens next!!!
Oh wow! This prequel was incredible! I’m speechless. This by far was one of the spiciest books I’ve read this year. I mean who wouldn’t want two nights with no expectations and no names just complete ecstasy. Jack is the girl you wish you were and Isaac let’s just say I have a new fictional crush. All I can say is I’m so ready for book 1. I received this book from the author along with The BookishGirlReviews.
I had initially started to read Ruthless Hawke and then realized this prequel existed. I didn’t get far into that book but already I can say I recommend reading this. It’s quick and hot and you truly understand what these two nights meant to Isaac. Additionally, it builds the intrigue around what Jack’s life is about why this weekend was an escape for her.
Now I can say I’m even more excited to read their story.
Alright, Ms. McNamee, I’m intrigued and need the next book. This was a short prequel, performed in dual narration, that I finished in a few hours. Lucas Dixon and Angelina Rocca both played into their characters well. I really enjoyed the sensuous tone they sustained. Wish I came across more audiobook prequels such as Night Hawke.
This was the best pallet cleanser of spicy hotness!! I am obviously committed to this story and need to know how Isaac finds Jack, and who she really is!!
This book was short, but hella spicy! I’m obsessed with these two and this world! I think I need to read this series because this novella was a fantastic start! I need more now!
🔥 Two-Night Stand 🔥 Billionaire 🔥 Strangers 🔥 Fake Identities
Such a great start to this series. I love the dynamic between Jack and Isaac. The spice is phenomenal! I’m about to dive into the next book because I need to know all the secrets and more from this couple.
This Two-night stand was literally perfect! I found myself wanting MORE I was like noooooo when it was done. It's a super quick read, just a prequel to the 2nd generation of the Hawke family but I definitely need book 1 NOW! So so good!
This book is everything you want and more. It is steaming hot with a side dish of mystery. Will Issac find out who the mysterious Jack is who he got freaky in the sheets with?
Two people who want each other, no strings, no real names. But fate has other ideas and a one night stand is not enough. A mark of a good story is to change your mind about someone or something. Isaac comes across as entitled and arrogant, yet by the end, he earns our sympathy. Well-written and very enjoyable.
“ This man is most certainly dangerous; though, I don’t think it has anything to do with the things girls are always warned about by their mothers. This man is dangerous in a way that will destroy your body and soul. ”
“ “(F---), Jack…” He jerks on my hair until my eyes meet his again. “This is a dangerous game you're playing.” Don’t I know it. This entire weekend has been dangerous— for him, for me, for my heart. And I don’t want it to end. Not yet. One more night. Tomorrow, I’ll deal with the fallout. ”
Night Hawke is the first addictive book in the new Hawke Family Second Generation series by Gwyn McNamee. It is set 30 years after the original series finished, bringing us back into the fold of the Hawke family. GAH!!!! I Floved this book so hard….. being a HUGE fan of the original series, I was so excited when I discovered Ms. McNamee had plans for a second-generation series, but also a little apprehensive that it wouldn’t match the pull of the original series, let alone come close to the way the original cast captured my heart and etched themselves onto my soul………..but I was WRONG!!! I should never have doubted Ms. McNamee, and I know I have said that before, but I let my doubt get the better of me here. I knew the story would be good because, DUH, it’s Gwyn McNamee. But I was worried that because I had LOVED the original Hawkes with such a fiery passion, that this second generation may not hold a candle to their predecessors. But, I was WRONG……. again!!! If this story is anything to go by, then the new series is set to be AMAZING, and the original Hawkes have some serious competition headed their way. Night Hawke is a short novella length story, a tasty little morsel offered to whet our appetite for the new series. It is the prequel- an introduction as such and an entirely addictive little piece that has left me eagerly anticipating the release of ‘Ruthless Hawke’ (Book #1) and meeting all of the new cast of Hawkes, as well as perhaps catching up with our favourites from the original series. Isaac Hawke has just graduated law school and is out celebrating when he locks eyes on a captivating red head across the bar. Even though he is leaving the city to head home to New Orleans in a few short days, he’s determined to convince her to spend the night with him. No names, no-strings-attached, a weekend of scorching passion that blazes white hot and unexpectedly brands their souls. Jack has her own secrets that tether her to the ‘real’ world and puts a firm time limit on their fling. What happens makes for a sizzling hot read. But, will one night be enough? You really should read all the riveting details for yourself; you’ll be so glad you did. This does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but thankfully we don’t have too long to wait till the next book releases- because I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. to continue what I started here!!!! Perfectly delicious and entirely enticing! Happy Reading…
This is a prequel to the upcoming Hake Family Second Generation series and what a fantastic prequel it was.
There is so much to learn about both characters and we got just a little taste to whet our appetites.
Isaac Hawke has just graduated law school and he enjoys his last weekend in Chicago with a woman that he meets in a bar.
Jack is hoping for one night of freedom and when the hot guy at the bar offers her a night of fun she can't resist.
Sounds like your typical meeting right? Well it is except they don't exchange names or any intimate details about themselves and when the weekend is over they have no way to locate the other again.
The two have amazing sizzling chemistry and I'm so glad they spent the weekend locked away in a hotel. I was able to have a fair guess of where the two would end up in the first book 'Ruthless Hawke' which was confirmed by the blurb and I can't wait for it's release and to get back to Isaac and Jack. . . . Isaac is about to pack up his life and head back home to New Orleans to start working with his father in the family business. He may have loved study to be a lawyer but he has no idea if he choose that path because he really wanted it or because as the oldest he was always with his father and fell into the same role he is in.
He has just this last weekend before he flies home and the red head across the bar seems like the perfect good bye to Chicago.
Jack is escaping her family and life for just one night. She and her best friend managed to sneak away at least for the night, she's sure when her parents figure out she's not where she was supposed to be they'll tear the city apart to find her. But for one night she doesn't want to be herself. She just wants some freedom and the very sexy man who's been watching her all night makes an offer she doesn't want to refuse.
They keep their true identities to themselves and don't share anything specific. But what they do share is a connection they just can't ignore. One night isn't enough and neither is ready to walk away after. So one night turns into two.
'She's a complete stranger, yet, somehow, she's reached into my soul and found a part of me I wasn't even aware was there. A part that wants more. And the more time we spend together, the more time I take her and we come together physically, the more convinced I become that the right person is her.'
After waking up alone Isaac makes an attempt to catch her before she leaves, he wants her real name at least, but all he catches of her is Jack getting into a black SUV and speeding away.
Nolan is sitting with his brother in a dive bar trying to decompress after graduating from law school in Chicago. Their family had boarded the plane back home earlier that day. He leaves for New Orleans in a few days to face the weight of his family's expectations.
The sexy redhead sitting at a high-top table across the room is the perfect distraction. One night before he leaves this city behind.
Jack had been glancing at him all night, but when he approached her table after her friend stepped outside to make a call she was stunned that he was even more gorgeous up close.
She knows that leaving the bar with a stranger is dangerous... especially since her little escape today, but if it was her only time from under her parent's control she was making the most of the night.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the prequel to The Hawke Family Second Generation series and has a cliffhanger so don't expect a HEA at the end.
But what a cliffhanger! One night wasn't enough and 36 hours later when he realizes that she left him sleeping without giving her real name he is livid. Throwing on his slacks, he haphazardly buttons his shirt and barefooot he starts running down the street of Chicago trying to get the SUV pulling away from the curb to stop.
This book is STEAMY hot and will keep you turning the pages. It's just one night and they'll never see each other again so they don't give their real names. Gwen McNamee leaves you with the perfect suspense with this prequel - what are the obligations that weigh on Nolan's shoulders? Why does Jack need to escape from her parents? Can't wait to see how Nolan and Jack reconnect! Highly recommend!
This is the prequel to Ruthless Hawke, and is the introduction to the next generation of the Hawke family members, we already know and adore. It follows Isaac during his last weekend in NOLA, and Jack who is all female but very much a mystery and in need of anonymity. Since it is a prequel, we were left with a cliff hanger - so if that isn't for you, check out the release date for Ruthless Hawke prior to reading.
As this was a quick read there was only about six chapters in total following Isaac, or Nolan as Jack knows him as; and "Jack" whose name was given but is in fact not real. Dual point of view in each chapter so we get to see what both are feeling within each chapter as their attraction grows at the bar, and explodes once they hit the hotel. This prequel covers their meeting over a span of about forty-eight hours.
When it comes to the spice that was definitely off the charts with attraction, teasing and unbridled need for each other. In terms of chili-peppers I, personally, would give this a three-point-five out of five (please, remember this is based on personal opinion, and may be more or less for you.) There are definitely some explorative spicy scenes that may not be everyone's cup of tea - but they were definitely hot!
For someone looking for a quick read, and a fan of the one-night stand with insta-attraction and to a point insta-love (at least on one side) this is definitely a book to read. I would, and will, be recommending this novella to my friends - though for some I will be waiting until closer to the release of the next one in this series.
If you were looking for a quick all-night sex extravaganza, then Night Hawke is your book. Issac Hawke is a newly graduated lawyer who is leaving Chicago to move back to New Orleans to be a part of the family business. He thought having one more amazing celebration with a gorgeous redhead would do the trick. The two spark up a conversation both wanting the same thing - a really good one-night stand. The catch is that they want to end it with no strings, which means no real names; Isaac goes by Nolan and the redhead goes by Jack. Well, this one-night stand becomes the best thing either one of them has ever experienced. The whole story is a prequel that starts their relationship, but the only thing that really occurred was a lot of untruths (to safeguard each other’s feelings, but also their lives) and sex, lots and lots of sex. “Jack” you don’t really learn much about her except that her family is highly controlling and she isn’t supposed to be out. She makes little hints but there is no description of why she is kept “captive” by her family - my guess will be maybe mafia related. Either way, the two feel more then they expect when one night turns into two. However, while Nolan wants more, he is left wanting when she up and leaves in the morning. He has no information on how to find her except that she lives and is from Chicago - he doesn’t even know her real name. As characters, I find both of them charming, and mysterious, but want more for their lives. That is the only info you get so the prequel sets you up for future stories, but you have no idea what that will be. It worked because I am interested to find out what happens.
Isaac Hawke has just graduated from law school and is out for one night of fun before heading into his role in the Hawke family’s business empire. When he makes eye contact across the room with a stunning redhead, he feels an instant attraction. From the way she is looking at him the attraction seems to be mutual. Both Isaac and the mysterious redhead agree to spend one night together but the rule is that they cannot exchange real names.
Both Isaac (“Nolan”) and “Jack” were running from their families, for different reasons, and each needed a way to escape from the realities of their worlds. Falling into each others’ arms, while assuming different names, made that escape a possibility. Neither went into it with any sort of expectation and they fully intended to walk away afterwards with no-strings attached.
“Jack”, as the mysterious redhead calls herself, turns out to be someone that “Nolan” (Isaac) cannot get enough of, and he finds that he does not want their time together to end. He decides to ask “Jack” for her real name in the morning but when he wakes up, she is gone. Now with no real name to go by, Isaac fears that he will never be able to find this mysterious and sexy redhead that he cannot imagine being without.
This book was steamy from the first few pages and became sizzling hot as it went along. The chemistry between Isaac and “Jack” was intense, and full of raw passion. It ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger, and I cannot wait to read more in the series.
Night Hawke is available now in Paperback and eBook ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Book Review
“I love to play games, especially with an opponent like Jack and when I know what I’ll win in the end.”
Both “Jack” and “Nolan” find themselves running from reality for two completely different reasons. “Nolan” has just finished law school and is about to enter the billion dollar family business. “Jack” has her own share of family problems. The two meet in a bar and agree to a one night stand that turns into an entire weekend together…in bed. When “Nolan” decides two nights together isn’t enough he speaks up. When he wakes up and notices “Jack” has left he does everything in his power to catch her. Two nights with only two rules lead to a lifetime of consequences. Will “Nolan” ever find his mystery woman?
Night Hawke written by Gwyn McNamee is a second generation Hawke family prequel. McNamee writes stories with a bit of suspense and action mingled with romance and heat. Night Hawke will not let you down in any of these categories. This novel is steamy and full of spicy scenes. The novel jumps right in from the very beginning with a steamy introduction. This prequel really sets the stage for the next series, ending with a cliffhanger that leaves you begging for more. It is not necessary to read the first generation to follow along in the second series, but I promise you wont regret getting your hands on those as well!
“This woman is trouble. No doubt about it. But it’s exactly the kind of trouble I need tonight.”
I had never heard of Gwyn McNamee before I downloaded Night Hawke as part of one of those promotional bundles, so I really did not know what to expect. What I wasn’t expecting was an erotic romance thriller that was almost impossible to put down. Night Hawke is an X-rated rollercoaster thrill ride from the first page to the last page.
It was Isaac Hawke’s last weekend in “The Windy City.” He had just graduated from law school and was on his way back to “The Big Easy” to take his place beside his father as head of the Hawke Empire. He was out celebrating with his younger brother when he encounters the mysterious redhead, “Jack.” Sparks flew. It was spontaneous combustion. She introduced herself as “Jack” because she was looking to have a no holds barred, strings attached, one-night stand. She chose Jack on the spur of the moment because she was drinking Jack when they met. Isaac introduced himself as “Nolan” because he was looking for the same thing. Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men. That one-night stand turned into two nights, and then Isaac still didn’t want it to end. “Jack” ran off while Isaac was still sleeping.
Who was the mysterious redhead? Who were her parents, that if they caught her with Isaac, Isaac would find himself in a war that he couldn’t win? Was her parents a mob boss? One can only speculate. What it’s made me want to do is to read the rest of this explosive new series to see what happens between Isaac and “Jack” in the future.
This book is a hot and steamy roller coaster ride from start to finish. It starts how any typical one night stand goes with two strangers meeting across a crowded bar. Both looking to lose themselves and their responsibilities in one night of passion. However, when the morning comes Hawke realizes one night is not enough. He still has another day before accepting the crushing weight of future responsibilities and lucky for him the redhead who called herself Jack decides to see where another night might take them. Two nights is still not enough for Hawke and he realizes he must know her real name to contact her to see where this could lead. After all she is the first woman he has been able to see a future with but what if she’s not on the same page. Can Hawke find his mystery woman that fled his bed with no number or calling card? Or is he doomed to pine over the one woman that could have been his everything?
There are so many emotions tied into these characters as they try to escape the paths already destined for each of them. One seemingly has more control whereas the other is at the mercy of her family. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series to find what happened next. As soon as this one was finished, on a cliffhanger of course, I went and looked for the next book only to find it won’t be released until later this month. Now I wait with bated breath to find out if Hawke will ever find his mystery woman or if the past is best left in the past!
This is the first book I have read by Gwyn McNamee. I was first interested in the title and then the mystery of the synopsis pulled me in good. The book is a dual perspective between two strangers that have a chance meeting in a local Chicago bar one night. Both looking for an escape of what the next day could bring but so entranced in the moment they accept whatever consequences may come. His entire life has been planned for him for as long as he can remember. She is a mystery; her actions are that of a strong independent force to be reckoned with. Only her words leave him coming up short and struggling to keep to the deal of no real talk just a fun night with a stranger. Her entire life has been controlled by her parents, worry plagues her mind and what they will do just to find her if she doesn’t come home one night. What’s the worst that can happen when two strangers have a chance meeting? This is an amazing and steamy introduction into the second generation of the Hawke Family series. I have never read any of the books from the original series but had no trouble understanding the book or references. With the first official book to the 2nd Gen series, Ruthless Hawke, coming out February 23rd, I plan to read the original series soon. The world and characters the author creates makes you feel like you know them.
