I'm surprised by the brutal honestly in this book. Oh my Gosh. The way public people have been called out so unapologetically is unreal - can you actually say these things and get away with it?
I was cringing on behalf of this person.
That's not to say that the Mirror Technique and other psychologies are actually quite true.
I just wish this could have been delivered with more compassion without sounding so awkwardly judgemental.

This book was fascinating. We have all heard that the majority of communication is non-verbal, but outside of a few basics, I did not know how to interpret most non-verbal communication. Sanjay breaks down a wide variety of factors, such as dress, body language, word choice and personal habits and explains what these could all be saying about someone.
Sanjay’s writing style is clear, concise and familiar with some self depreciating humor to make you feel more comfortable with him as he goes about to describe this topic.
It was so packed with information that I feel I will need to review it again to really grasp everything that was expressed and will do so gladly.
No, this will not turn you into Sherlock Holmes with the ability to instantly deduce the life story of anyone who walks into the same room as you, but it does make one aware of the messages that they and you are emitting. Some of Sanjay’s interpretations could be colored from his own personal experience and therefore conclusions he draws are based upon probable causes and messages.

This one isn’t very good.
This book focuses on assumptions. And we know what they mean. ;)
Happy Reading, everybody!

Nothing more, nothing less!
If you are in for an introduction course on body language, this is the one for you! If you expect more than that, a little bit more depth perhaps (including work reference and real scientific cases), you might end up disappointed.
This book by Sanjay Burman is a wonderful way to get into the secret language of the body and discover some good-to-know spoilers about what people are really saying.
However, if you are looking to spend some time in the field and get everyday life examples you need to look beyond "Reading People".
I honestly did not appreciate the steady flow of celebrity-examples (if I wanted that, I would have bought a common, weekly issue of a gossip magazine), and I would have valued everyday-Joe examples much more. Something, especially situations, that you can relate to.
Other than that, an overall easy read.

I had the audio version of this book and I listened to it twice. It is a 14 day loan from the library so I might listen again. I really didnt get anything useful out of this book regarding reading people. I did learn that I am a bitter committer when it comes to why I am afraid of relationships. So I can only give this book 2 stars. It just seemed to be more of a personal account instead of based on facts.
