This book was an experience. And it blew me away. Not only the illustrations, but the pacing of the story, the well-chosen Bible elements intertwined with the fiction, the characters, the beauty throughout. But more than anything, the sweet friendship between the two, and the divine love emanating from its pages, showing a powerful God who so loves a man that He desires his fellowship. Even a reader might well wish to be in Moses' shoes. This pleading with a man is also reminiscent of Abraham's bargaining with God in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Mr. Gerstein is a gifted writer and artist, a gift to humanity. I'm glad I discovered him and his books. I'm glad he discovered this story from whoever imagined it hundreds of years ago.
