I am a Muslim woman. I bought this book in hopes of becoming more inspired to wear a headscarf, however, all this book did was disgust me.

this book tries to convince women to stay at home at all times. If a woman decides to leave the house, the book says you must cover everything, not even showing your face! It tries to validate its irrational dress codes by providing absurd interpretations of various hadeeth and a few Qur'an verses.

This book is terrible, and I have shredded it for its utter stupidity.

This is an excellent read, and one that I recommend every Muslim woman to get her hands on. The scholar Mohammed Ismail starts out with the verses related to hijab and then moves on to talking about what tabarruj is according to those who best understood Islam. He proves that Hijab is not a piece of cloth alone, but rather a way that includes the commands of covering the entirety of the body, forbiddence of softening the speech, commandment of staying home, etc.

Throughtout his book, he brings proofs for his claims. I love the book even more because I could feel his strong urge to make it a source of betterment of the Ummah, as I read it. May Allah make it a means of sadaqa jariyah for him. Aameen.
