I live between 2000 - 2300 feet from three cell phone towers and I wanted to know how they could be affecting my health. This is an excellent book that covers that area. After much personal research on the subject, I actually found that the most toxic transmitters were the ones that I had bought! Devices sold as harmless wireless products actually turn people's homes into antenna parks and may make the people inside the home sick. This book also covers these types of devices. The utility "Automatic Meter Reader" (AMR) and "Smart" meter plague is simply a crime against humanity. These devices were proven to be biologically toxic a long time ago and most people do not even realize that they already have them! I took all of my wireless devices out of service and my dormant garden sprung into life!!! I also had painful and sensitive teeth for a few weeks afterwords and it appeared to be withdrawal from the wireless radiation. I no longer purchase nor use any wireless products, I now consider them to be a known bio-hazard. They are officially classed as "Possibly Carcinogenic".

A very important book about a topic which affects us all. Our new technology is literally making us sick. This is the third book on the subject that I have been reading. All offering different perspectives of the problem. Don't believe the false research funded by the Telecom industry--which of course benefits financially by the misinformation. We've seen this kind of cover-up or distortion of facts before--most notably by big pharma and big tobacco.

A good follow up of this book is "Zapped:Why your cell phone shouldn't be your alarm clock and 1,268 ways to outsmart the hazards of electronic pollution," by Ann Louise Gittleman.

That ionizing radiation is harmful to human health is undisputed. This book argues that non-ionizing radiation also is harmful, including the radiofrequency and microwave lengths in wireless technologies, cell phones, cordless phones, Wi-Fi, microwave ovens, “smart” grids, etc. It links longwave radiation to various cancers, sleep disturbances, brain wave abnormalities, eye problems such as cataracts, etc. The human body has its own subtle electrical frequencies. It makes sense that artificial frequencies, whether long or short wave, would be disruptive.

The authors have backgrounds in environmental and human health. They recommend that wireless technologies be replaced by fiber optics and wired routers, and that standards of safe exposure be based on biological, not thermal, effects. Of course this is very much a political issue, and they discuss the political and corporate interests involved. They warn that wireless proliferation is out of control and must be curbed immediately to avert disastrous public health consequences. That wireless “advances” such as Wi-Max and "Broadband over Power" present unacceptable dangers.

This book is in question-and-answer format so it is not comprehensive, but it covers a lot of ground. There is a whole section that points you to further information in books, videos, journals, websites, etc. It offers tips on recognizing symptoms, identifying sources in your own environment, and minimizing exposures. It is lavishly sourced, but not indexed.
