Frank Nyman answered an ad in a Seattle newspaper for an engineering job with the city of Anchorage. The year was 1950 and it was the start of an exciting time for him as well as for Anchorage. For the next 50 years, he worked on many of the major engineering projects in the city.

The book is written diary form but it is insightful. I didn't realize how important engineering (all kinds) are so very important in our day to day lives and keeping it running smoothly. The reason I read this the book is because Mr. Nyman is a resident at the Pioneer Home where I work and has many connections. He also grew up in Bozeman, Montana-my home town. I didn't understand all the engineering lingo but it was still written simply enough to understand.
