Old New York lives and breathes once again in these rare original three-dimensional photographs, showing the city we love at its nostalgic best. Here are the first skyscrapers, the old street markets, the wharves, street cars and elevated trains, and our New York ancestors at work and play.
The photographs here are reproduced as halftones, and the dot patterns are rather clear especially when viewing in 3-D; I'd prefer if they were photographically reproduced for better quality. But still, it's so nice to have this collection of historical images easily viewable in 3-D, and they still look really good - with good stereoscopic effect too. The books that were produced like this 100 years or so ago are now rare and quite expensive, so it's especially nice to have this available at such a reasonable price.
It's a very beautiful way to read history and see it pop out like that, in original images. It's a beautiful book... I hope to get the other cities books as well.
