In this teaching, Dr Covey shares his principles along with specifics targeted to network marketing: Be proactive; begin with the end in mind; put first things first; think win-win; seek first to understand, then to be understood; synergize; sharpen the saw. He also discusses learning best by teaching others, and paradigm shifts in our thinking: "We all see the world not as it is, but as we are. We look through our own frame of reference, the paradigm of our whole past background and experience."
Throughout, he gets you to really look at your priorities, thinking, communication, vision, planning, use of time, and personal development to find and correct areas that can be improved and enhanced beyond their current level. He teaches: "You are not your habits; thus, you can make or break your habits. You do not need to be a victim of conditions or conditioning."
The CD package is accompanied by a 47-page printed training booklet to provide some written key overviews for each chapter and contains charts and illustrations needed for some of the concepts. Without this visual aid, it is difficult to follow the time management matrix quadrants discussed in the "Put First Things First" segment without previous exposure.
On Sharpening The Saw: "The only person over whom you have direct and immediate control is yourself. So the greatest assets to constantly develop, preserve and enhance are your own capabilities. And no one can do it for you. You have to do it for yourself. It is the single greatest investment you can make because it leverages everything else."
I believe the "7 Habits" training can benefit everyone who is interested in improving themselves, so get it, and "sharpen your saw!"
