This book was just as good as the first and is even better due to the fact that it is set in Ancient Egypt. When will the third book come out?

Fun Read

I love the story of Joseph and this book brings the story to life. I enjoyed all of the plot twists and turns. I would recommend this book for both young and old.

My young friend (age 11) enjoyed this book so much that she lent it to me. Another great adventure with the adorable and funny creatures, Max (the Scottish terrior) and his love Kate and Liz (the French cat) and her love Albert (a glutinous ginger scaredy-cat)! Don't let the length of the story discourage you. It's a great re-telling of the Joseph and the many-colored coat. Good lessons to learn and lots of fun on the way! And and interesting new creature is introduced--Nigel, a white British mo ...more

Liz, a small black cat, is one of the main characters in this book. She is motivated to follow God's will. Liz helps Joseph to make sure he follows God's plan. Liz gets Joseph sold to Pharoah and to take Max, a black scottish terrier. Liz is troubled because her mate, Al, always gets himself in trouble. He almost gets trapped in the pyramid of Anubis because of bananas. Liz is very intelligent. Nigel, a little white mouse, teachers her Eygptian culture and language. This book reminds me of socie ...more

This book was amazing. I think I liked it even more than the first book. How Mrs. Jenny wrote the book and weaved Biblical truth into Egypt mythology was amazing. I love mythology stuff and when I heard that this book was about Egypt and God at the same time, I knew I had to read it. I would have read it any way even if it was not on my summer reading list. Thank you Mrs. Jenny for writing this and I am definitely going to try to crack the code. When I heard that there was a second one to the fi ...more

Even better than the Ark, the Reed and The Fire Cloud. Jenny's descriptions are fabulous in the story of Joseph and his 12 brother. Max and Liz are off to Egypt to help Joseph and see what the Maker has planned for them. They meet very interesting animals that help them along the way.
A must read for any child or adult.

A great sequel to "The Ark, the Reed and the Fire Cloud". I read this aloud to my 8 year old daughter, and we both enjoyed it as much as the first book. A treat for dramatic reading with accents, great examples of faith and character and some good explanations I hadn't considered previously, either! Recommended.

I think this is one of the coolest books I have ever read. I could not stop reading it. I so badly want you you to write more books like this like a book about David, Samson, Esther, Job or Ruth . I think this book was so cute .

This is a fleshing out of the Biblical story of Joseph, told with animals playing critical roles in aiding and guiding the course of the will of God, which though fictional here, I would not and could not discount as being untrue or unfounded.

This book continues the story of Max, Liz and all their friends farther along in the book of Genesis, to the time of Joseph, and gives them the challenge of working seperately. I loved this book and the author is super cool!

I thought it was a great book, it gave the true story of Joseph in Egypt, and gave true facts about Egyptian gods and their beliefs, and brought it all together into an adventure story from the perspective of the animals.

I read this book aloud to my daughter and we both loved it. I gained some interesting spiritual insights, and she learned more about some of the Biblical stories. I think it's a book that could be read again and again, and you'd still be learning more.

I loved this book more then the first one. I absolutly adore the British 'mousie' Nigel ! He was great character and friend for Liz I even memorized a great deal of the Egyptian letters from the texts at the end too!!!
And I CAN'T WAIT for the next book

More adventures with Max and Liz exploring one of my all time favorite Bible stories, that of Joseph. I love the length of the book as it gives a challenge to younger advanced readers while keeping them interested with a wonderful story of looking at the life of Joseph.
