For a short story it was enjoyable and quite sweet. It was a perfect read for when you don't have much time and want something light and likable. Justin and Claire were both solid, likable characters who have to deal with circumstances that are (mostly) out of their control. I am going to say that I wish it had been longer to let us get to know both Justin and Claire better and see their relationship develop - of course this is usually what I say with short stories. For what it was, I think Just ...more

It's one of those things when you find an author you really like and must devour everything they've written. Now, The Manuscript is not the first of her erotic novels I've ready so I was not surprised by either the length, these of hers tend to be pretty short, maybe half or two-thirds the length of her full length novels, or the additional edge to the love scenes. While they are written with more graphic language, Ms. Wildes maintains both the romance and the time period for which she's writing ...more

This is a very nice light reading material. The banter between Justine and Claire were witty. It is very refreshing to have a heroine that is witty, intelligent and down to earth. Claire held herself very well in her interview with Margot (Justine's sister) who is a formidable Marquioness.

Justine although a devoted scientist in his field was far from boring and dull. He would discuss his experiments with Claire treating her like equal and with respect. They complimented each other so well making
Rather silly, but not altogether unpleasant little diversion. Nice lunchbreak read.

Emma was born in Minnesota and she lives in the Midwest, though she grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended Illinois State University where she majored in geology, and there she met her husband, Chris. They have three children, a temperamental cat named Poot, and are lucky enough to live on a beautiful lake. On warm days, she does enjoy a glass of wine on the dock now and then, and always ...more
