Thomas Kinkade was known as the "Painter of Light." His works, although spurned by the secular art establishment, were very popular with Christians and many others.

This is yet another gift book I found amongst one of the inherited libraries I received from a friend, focusing specifically on the art of Thomas Kinkade and various inspirational quotes about fatherhood, children, and God. There are even several pages to personalize the book with rememberances for the potential father receiving this as a gift.

While the paintings are lovely, as are the quotes, there isn't really much connection between the two. There's no real sense of structure within the book, just a seemingly random collection of quotes paired even more randomly with Kinkade's paintings. In fact, there are several instances of repeating a few of the paintings throughout the book, like the editor chose too many quotes for the available amount of artwork and couldn't decide on what to cut.

Probably a fine book as a gift to a goodly Christian father, but even then I'd probably try to find something a little more personal for the "Old Man."
