Jim, Mickey and Lisa belong to a secret club called the Sewer Rats. Every Saturday the Sewer Rats reign supreme in paintball wars held in the city's storm drain system. The new kid, Carter, wants to join, but Lisa doesn't want him in the club. When Carter is hurt in his first paintball war, Jim and Mickey suspect that Lisa planned the accident. They try to confront her, but she runs into the tunnels just as a rainstorm begins. Jim and Mickey have to get Lisa out before the tunnels fill with water.

Never have I been so enlightened by such fine eloquence and literature. I stumbled upon this publication during my language studies and was enraptured by the first few pages alone. The reflection of these characters onto those I know in my personal life made the novel that much more touching and real. As a girl, I was a little thrown off by the many boy scenes and didn't fully comprehend what was going on. I mean what is paintball? What is science fiction? My girl brain did, however, understand friendship. In the final chapters of 'Sewer Rats' one certainly sees the character arcs achieving their full potential as Jim (the protagonist, who the story is told through) go from a small, nerdy, wiry boy who finds it necessary to impersonate a galactic hero, Zantor, to console him when he is fearful. To a hero, readily saving his friend and willing to sacrifice himself in an honorable way. In chapter 15, page 83, Jimmy realizes "I didn't need Zantor. I needed me. I needed to get to Lisa and help her. And I needed to lose my fear of being afraid. I needed to keep moving forward." This is so real. All-in-all, 'Sewer Rats' is a short yet impactful read, that will leave you wanting to be a hero too.

this story is about a team named sewer rats fight/battle between one another in the sewers they have never lost a battle and they are "indestructible." i would give this book a text to world because obvoiusly they play paintball and some have never lost but it is unnormal to play underground in the sewer.i would give this book 5 stars and i would recommend this to a boy who LOVES paintball because this is just of paintball and danger this book is amazing because as i said it's just made for boys.

this book is about a gang of kids who play paintball. a new kids moves into town which turns out to be the step brother. she does not like this at all. the gang of kids have a paintball match on saturday. the new kid wants to join because he thinks it is interesting. the girl tells him to go into a hiding spot, actually this is a place where she can shoot him in the face.

The book is about paint ball and that is a positive part in the book that connects to me already. The drama has got my attention and it was we'll rounded but why I gave this book 3 stars is that there was to much hurt scenes and would go flat at times but was a good book.

This is one of the better Orca books I have read. The sewer rats are a group of kids who paintball in the storm drains. They've been called losers by adults and other kids. In the end they have to really pull together and they prove everyone wrong.
