Finally I read a science book that actually is relevant to what I do now, and even relatively up-to-date. Each chapter takes a rather different perspective on acoustic communication (all in vertebrates), from the biophysics of sound production and transduction to the influence of hormones on vocal communication, and each has useful insights.
