Hey, I wrote it. What more can I say? If readers have as much fun reading it as I had with the writing of it, then I've done what I set out to do!

On arrival in Barada Seven, Drusilla is awestruck by the beauty of the planet and the kind people that live there. She is taken to a house and Lester, her tour guide of sorts, promises there is no violence or evil monsters on the planet that will bother her. As she starts to paint she meets Zef of the species Eltran, a water being who lives in the local lake. Zef has another friend though, one that is rarely seen. Manx is a fugitive from the now destroyed planet Zetithian. He has escaped slavery ...more

Really liked Fugitive!

Manx is a Zetithian fugitive with a feline gene that gives him remarkable sexual powers. He has been in hiding in the remote jungles of Barada Seven ever since being marked for extermination by the violent Nedwuts. Artist Drusilla arrives on Barada Seven, enticed only by the promise of finding a nature paradise there. But she discovers a wildlife she wasn't expecting when she encounters Manx. Reckless with desire for the beautiful Earth woman, Manx risks his life to win her

Nice world building with engaging characters. It has a great plot but sadly about half of the book I got bored and skimmed to most parts of the story. There were some very interesting characters like Lester and Zef and some interesting sub female characters like Jack and Tisana.

I’ll start out by saying that FUGITIVE is number five in the Cat Star Chronicles by Cheryl Brooks and I have not read the first four books. That being said, I didn’t feel too lost reading FUGITIVE. I imagine that if I had read the first four books I would have come into this book with a little bit more back-story. Some more information about the Zetithians going into the book definitely would have made the beginning of the book a little more understandable; however, as I mentioned, without this ...more

Book 5 in the series. Not necessary to read previous four although might be a little helpful for in-depth back story.

Terrian artist know for painting birds is sent to Barada Seven by her agent to paint their beautiful birds. However Drusilla soon looses interest in the birds when this Jane discovers her own alien version of Tarzan.

Manx has been running and hiding from the Nedwuts and the bounty on his species since his Planet was destroyed and the survivors either killed or sold into slavery.

Well not as good as the last two but still nothing to sneeze at. Manx - dear lord I love her choice of names - was very hot and sexy but sadly I felt he was lacking that special something that made me connect with him. And Drusilla was the same. Nice all around but nothing particularly special. Zef - the nice lake monster - was really the only source of comedy for three quarters of the book. Mind you the sex scenes were amazing but sadly I had wanted a little bit more plot to fill things out. Oh ...more

I will say at this point in the series I am just completly over the sex. There's too much and the scenes are too long. I also wish the author was a bit more subtle about her foreshadowing, her way of doing it is a little cringy

As I'm going through the series, I'm glad to say that the author's writing has gotten better, along with her character building. Makes reading much more enjoyable.

I mostly enjoyed this sci fi erotica book although it had a few problems. I think it would definitely be more enjoyable if you've read the other books in the series first, although it is not totally confusing if you start here. There is some back story and knowledge of the Zetithians that is more fully developed over the course of the series. The love/sex scenes, of which there are always plenty in this series, seemed a bit too plentiful here to the point where the plot suffered especially in ...more

Fugitive Fugitive is the fifth book in Cheryl Brooks' Cheryl Brooks Cat Star Chronicles. This story of Manx, a Zetithian male in hiding from bounty hunters intent in killing him for a reward, is one of the hottest books (rivaling only Rogue for intense sex scenes) in this series so far. He can't resist a painter on a sort of painting vacation. Drusilla is from Earth and is trying to recover from her most recent disaster of a relationship in a long line of disastrous attempts to find romance.

Fugitive is Cheryl Brooks fifth book in her Cat Star Chronicle series. Each book can be read as a stand alone book but the series does feature some great recurring characters.

In Fugitive, artist Drusilla is on vacation on a tropical planet that is extremely peaceful. The locals do not allow any weapons or anyone with harmful intent on to the planet. Fugitive or should I say refugee Manx is hiding out on the planet. Manx watches Drusilla from the distance until he can no longer ignore his

Once again, my biggest beef with Kindle books is that they're often not neatly labeled so that I can easily see which books comes first in a series. Having bought 4 books by this author in one go, I (of course) chose the 5th in the series to read first. I rock like that. That said, I didn't have any problem following along with the storyline, despite skipping a few crucial pieces of back story. I did feel like the editing was a little off, misspellings and oddly incorrect words kicked up every ...more

Silly, light, wish we could do without the older books' characters. I really dislike serialized romances where everyone and their mother sequentially shacks up with their true wove and it is one big fuckin family renuion for half of each subsequent book. I dont care about your old characters. Let them go gently into that good night where they belong.

Also, the book is relatively saccharine with long bouts of sex with weird alien penis. And, let me say, no one should call a penis "man meat," nor

Sadly I didn't like this as much as others in the series (namely the first two). I really just didn't feel a connection between Drusilla and Manx. She's sees him naked with a massive erection and she's in love. He smells her arousal and is caught. Then they do a lot of dancing around each other through intermediaries and BAM they're in bed and in love.

I felt that the first half of the book was too slow and the only real enjoyment was Zef, the water slug-thingie. Now he was hysterical. I did

Book #5 of the Cat Star Chronicles

Drusilla is on sabbatical to work on painting exotic birds. Manx is hiding out in the jungle trying to keep away from the Nedwuts hunting him for the 5 million credit bounty. He smells Drusilla and knows that he won't be able to keep away from her, she's his destiny.

The two meet & start loving each other, but Manx takes off when the Nedwuts come to Drusilla's door with a trumped up story about a dangerous wildcat loose in the jungle. After Manx leaves,

This book gets 5 stars ultimately because I loved Zef! No, you might think that is the hunky lead male. But unless you are into mudskipper creature from the black lagoon types you guessed wrong. Zef is absolutely hilarious. I highlighted a bunch of his quotes. This book was more light-hearted than the others I think. Drusilla and Manx were just two cool laid-back people who fit together perfectly. I also have to add to my review of the last book where I said this series gets better with each ...more

Manx is a Zetithian warrior and a hunted man, so staying in hiding is the safest place for him to be. But when he encounters the beautiful Drusilla, he can't resist her and she too finds him just as interesting.

Fugitive is a steamy, action filled ride. Ms. Brooks' world-building is impressive as well as creative. Her strong heroines and beyond sexy heroes make the read worth it. The pairing of Manx and Drusilla was seductive and enjoyable to read. If your looking for a guilty pleasure The Cat

I love this series. Its book #5 and it was great as usual. This is about another Cat, named Manx who is on hiding on Barada Seven from the Newduts (like the other Zenethians). He encounters the lovely Terran, Druisilla through smell alone. Of course they have interesting new creatures on the planet too with interesting talents. Then of course you see Jack and her motley crew come to the rescue. I loved it as usual.

Once again Cheryl Brooks captivates from beginning to end with imagination that will have one purring with delight. This is her 5th book in her Cat Star Chronicles however, each book is independent from the other so one doesn’t have to read the ones before to understand the plot.

**READER NOTE**This is a very sexual book…personally I found it quite sizzling and mouth watering. MEOW!

I think I love these books because they are so well written meaning that they are easy to read based on the writing style and they have the right amount of humor. Also some of the future books can get cheesy but these don't. I also like how each book as a story, but then there in an overarching story to the series to weave everything into a much bigger theme and picture.

Book 5 of The Star Cat Chronicles.
Yet again Cheryl Brooks gave me exactly what I have come to expect from her writing. A nice light hearted romp with plenty of action and hot scenes between the Hero and Heroine . It also kept the story of the Zitithian’s history and present problems running. Can’t wait to read more of her books.

I liked the characters in this book. This is the first one I have read even though it is the 5th one in the series. Some of the supporting characters were very funny. If you don't like soft porn and a fullfillment of every woman's fantasy (the mear touch of his seaman makes a woman come) then you won't like this book.

I liked the plot of this erotic paranormal romance but it was so slow to unfold and the action didn't really pick up until about midway. However, the hero and his species were very appealing. Drusilla goes to remote area to paint birds and feels a strong attraction to the sexy allusive Manx who frequently purrs.
Of all the places to find your muse, on vacation of course. Why not throw in a bossy housekeeping computer, a droid who knows what's good for you, and a giant swamp thing. Throw in wine and whipped cream, and you'll have a mating in the stars. Where ever you are. Oh you #snardlover you! I gave it four stars because, in the end, everyone got a friend.
This is the first book in the series that I didn't quite enjoy as much as I wanted. It wasn't bad... but I wanted a little more out of it than there was. I'm actually kinda looking forward to the next in the series though, so perhaps I'll find better luck there.

Loved this one very much. Well written. If you enjoy reading futuristic sci-fi romance with a twist then you will love this series. I can't wait to read the next instalment of the Cat Star Chronicles.

Hmm I liked it... Liked the humor in this one; Zef was funny, didn't like the intro to anal sex... could have been done differently maybe eased into especially as it wasn't in the other stories, and it was fleeting (just one paragraph)... over all quite good but no my favorite in the series
