It was a cute story but it took a while to get there. I find extolling the value of words and books sometimes a little dull if it isn't in context. Kids know they're SUPPOSED to love words and reading, but why is more interesting. In that respect, the ending is vague, because the song that cheers the princess up isn't that remarkable.

This was a cute read and I loved that it was words that helped the princess and words that made the birds nest. Of course it was the littlest simplest bird that was able to help the princess not be sad anymore. Very pretty and colorful illustrations.

I liked the ending of this book but unfortunately I was reading it alone because it didn't hold the interest of my children and they had wandered off.

Too wordy for a young child who's into the princess culture.

I enjoyed this book and may try to include it in a bird or song storytime theme.
