My Mom gifted me this book by saying "I read this before you were born, and you were my easiest birth" so naturally, as the 5th of 5 kids, I was intrigued.
I enjoyed the format, written like a class. It's a bit of time capsule ("sit like this as you play chess with your husband at home in the evenings") since it was published in the 50s, and some of the advice is extremely outdated while some is still surprisingly unchanged in 70+ years.
I got through a 19 hour unmedicated labor with the breathing techniques. Too bad there's no chapter on emergency c sections to help me out.
