6 books1 followerJim Friedman is a Cincinnati native and resident wordsmith who has been creating television shows since 1979. He grew up in Wyoming, Ohio. He attended the University of Cincinnati and received his doctorate from the Union Institute.
Friedman has won 56 regional Emmy Awards for writing, directing and producing television shows for WCPO-TV, WKRC-TV, WLWT, WXIX, and WCET. He created The Celebrate Series, The Dooley Show, Everyday Freedom Heroes, and the Dreambuilder movies.
Friedmans introduction to television was, like so many others in Cincinnati, at four years old doing the Hokey Pokey on The Uncle Al Show. At 14, he appeared in the studio audience of the The Dennis Wholey Show on WKRC-TV. A decade later he was working in that same studio on the staff of PM Magazine. Since then, Friedman met and worked with many of the pioneers of Cincinnati television: Mort Watters, Al Schottelkotte, Nick Clooney, Bob Braun, and yes, the man who gave him his start, Uncle Al Lewis.
When not creating programming as part of his company, the Blind Squirrels Production Group in North College Hill, Friedman finds time to read, write, study photography, work on his next book and, of course, watch television.
He was delighted by the opportunity to compile and edit this photographic history as a gift to the people of Cincinnati. He hopes that this work will bring back fond memories and inspire the sharing of colorful stories about the programs and performers who are part of the Cincinnati television family.

Fun, clever story, with a nice twist at the end.

One of the best books ever! Do yourself a favor and have a laugh!

Clever, colorful story about dragons and people, told in the style of Chinese myth. It has a funny ending, too, that some people may not fully appreciate.
