Accounting Information Systems
Accounting Information Systems provides readers with the knowledge and skills they need to pursue successful careers in accounting. The book reflects how information technology (IT) is altering the very nature of accounting, discussing how developments such as the Internet, electronic commerce, EDI, databases, and artificial intelligence are fundamentally transforming the way organizations conduct their business activities. The authors also explore ways in which accountants can improve the design and function of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) so that they truly add value to the organization. The authors address conceptual foundations of accounting information systems including e-business, relational databases and data modeling and database design, control and audit of accounting information systems and computer fraud, accounting information systems applications including the revenue, expenditure and manufacturing cycles and the systems development process. For those in accounting related positions.

I found this book (along with Gelinas Accounting Information System, recommended by the other 'guru') pretty much good. The cases included really help me to understand comprehensively about building a system for all financial cycle.

This one was okay. The beginning was fascinating but in the middle of the book it got very confusing and hard to understand.

I’m as finished with it as I’m going to get. The book was full, but then again I didn’t take the class that goes with it

Pretty clear breakdown of how an AIS system works. This was a textbook for a class with a rather abysmal professor, and I'm thiking that combined with a stronger professor, this could be an excellent tool for teaching AIS.

Input Control, Processing Control, and Output Control (chapter 8). Also mentioning about appropriate documentations (chapter 20)

The book made far more sense than the class, but it is definitely dry.

Full of useful information, however lacking a certain usability. I'm not the only one that complained about this book; it was not the most fun thing to read.
