This volume was adorable! Again, the team dynamics are just wonderful! The humor is pretty great and I love how in charge Storm is.

Definitely a recommend.

Another incredibly fun volume! I’m loving the overall friendship/family dynamic between these dorks and even though I think I like Volume 7: Weirder & Wilder the best (so far, anyways) this was still a blast. As for the stories individually…

#13: Attack of the 50 Foot Girl!—Loved seeing how Janet became Giant-Girl and the Avengers trying to make her “snap out” of her “brainwashing” while also getting tossed around was pretty funny. The bug people’s plan was just creepy and gross though, ew.

#14: The Avenging Seven—Probably my favorite out of the whole volume—guess I just love the “teach farmers to fight and defend themselves against bullying jerks” plot line (as a farmgirl I totally approve of this). Also love Captain America giving Wolverine full reign over leading the team on this one and just how excited Wolverine got, lol.

#15: Bringers of the Storm—My second favorite as they go to Asgard and we get to see Thor! The team dynamics were on par and many lines made me laugh. Also Spider-Man just being like “why are you guys geeking out over Thor…oohhh, THAT’S why!” was really funny.

Then there’s a special story that crosses the Avengers with the Agents of Atlas (whoever they are) dealing with Kang the Conqueror (ugh, I HATE this guy, he’s always trying to get rid of Cap!) and some time travel weirdness that lands Cap at being the president, which I honestly would never see Steve being, but whatever. This one was just okay, and I didn’t much care for it as it felt a tad rushed in resolving things.

Overall this was really good and I’m excited to read more!

This is a fun series. The stories here are light and fun. The first issues are probably the best, but the rest of them are still very good.

Unlike what the description says, this book actually has #13-15 plus the annual.

The highlight for me is #13, in which the team battles Jan (her secret identity is revealed, her family is completely unfazed, and her superhero origin story is the best thing ever). Apparently Hank is her kind of unsuccessful scientist boyfriend (he's sure not an Avenger here) and it's hilarious. #14 is meh, fighting some guy called Gorg. #15 has them in Asgard fighting Malekith, and I guess if you like Asgard you'll like this. I'm not a big Asgard fan. But I enjoyed the annual, which had Kang the Conqueror making them fight dinosaurs and then causing Steve to be defrosted in the 50s and become president, while in the alt-history present the Avengers are being tracked down for violating the "Secret Identity Act." (Shades of SHRA, 616 fans?)

I think I liked the last volume better, but, hey, still cute!

The Marvel Adventures series is aimed at younger readers, but I have to say they were the perfect introduction to the Avengers for me, too. Comics aimed at kids are usually a lot more fun, because there is less drama and darkness and being a superhero is pretty much awesome. There's something to be said for the other, more grown-up kind of story, too, of course, but sometimes you just need something that's sweet and cute and just plain fun.

Reprints Marvel Adventures: The Avengers #13-15 and Marvel Adventures: The Avengers Giant-Size #1. The Avengers fight Giant-Girl, liberate a city Seven Samurai style, battle Elves in Asgard, and team-up with the Agents of Atlas. I like the inclusion of the Agents of Atlas in the Giant-Size issue, but this batch of stories wasn't as strong as the previous collection.
