I think this a good way to introduce second habit. It doesn’t go into deep explanation on beginning with the end in mind. I believe it is a good way to connect with the students.

This picture book tries to teach the second habit of planning ahead. The problem is the text isn't that clear about that. Rather there is a great deal of inferencing to understand that, making it only obvious to an adult. Points to Covey for trying though.

Emphasis on the dreaming of the future, need to have more on the planning and achieving a goal, like in the big book of kids 7 habits. Like the parent note about kids' dreams of future - like to share parent note with students as well.

For Habit 2, I thought the story was better developed and more helpful in the chapter on Habit 2 in the book The 7 Hanits of Highly Effective Kids.

I didn't like this story very much, it seemed a little too preachy. I can see how it could teach kids about setting goals.
