Opera non molto conosciuta creata dall'ideatrice del termine ''detective story''. Sebbene a un certo punto cada un po' più nel genere sentimentale, rimane molto interessante e piena di colpi di scena... e un fantasma, più o meno. Si fa leggere tutto di un fiato.
L'unica nota stonata è che i personaggi femminili hanno un ruolo secondario nonostante l'autrice sia una donna.
