A little dry, but fascinating and comprehensive. Factual, archival scholarship intersects with Gilbert's analytic and interpretive powers. Gilbert covers a range of topics, chief among them the messy business of human memory as record of truth, what the fair meant to many different groups of people, and the planning committee and their intentions for fair-goers. Looking for more description

Really wanted a tour of the fair with whatever pictures and descriptions of what being at the fair was like
