Another fab read in the Love Heart Lane series, Libby is staying with brother Flynn at Starcross Manor before her big move, but has one challenge to arrange a winter wedding to competion winners.

With characters you will love a few annoying ones this a joyful read.

I absolutely adore this series and think this particular story would make a perfect Chsirmas Hallmark movie.

Heartcross always sounds wonderful with a great community, a place I would certainly love to visit if it was real.

I highly recommend this series.

I received a free copy of, A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor, by Christie Barlow, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book twelve in the Love Heart Lane Series. Libby Carter who is a fashion designer knows family comes first, so she decides to help her brother Flynn out. It was so nice to see some old characters and meet new ones. I really enjoyed this cozy Christmas read. Libby, Guy, and Holly are great new characters.

This was the first book I've read in the Love Heart Lane and it can definitely be read as a standalone. That said, the town has left an impression on me and I'm going to have to go back and read some of the earlier stories. This one focusses on Libby, helping out her brother Flynn, organise a wedding at his Manor. It was a wonderful story and I really felt like I was taken to the village in Scotland and was part of the community. The story is full of family, friendship, love, twists, a bit of mystery and of course Christmas. Great story that left me feeling happy.

I think that each time I pick up a Love Heart Lane book I believe it is my next favourite. Once again this latest book in the series is my new favourite! Each book is a story in its own right, but the author has crafted her series around the people who make up this wonderfully close-knit community. Starcross Manor is at the forefront of this story with some favourite characters dropping in.

Starcross Manor is a wonderful-sounding hotel in the Scottish Highlands, run by Fergus and fiance Julie. It is his sister, Libby, who is one of the leading cast in this story as she drops in to help with organising a wedding at the manor. She is joined by Guy who is a wildlife photographer and filmmaker who owes Fergus a favour and also needs a break from his own life and problems.

Libby is a fashion designer who is due to go to start a new career in New York, she has built her brand from the floor up and helping Fergus with a wedding when his current planner has quit for personal reasons seems like a good fit. It gives Libby a chance to catch up with family and friends before she makes the next step.

Anyone who has read any of these books knows that, once you visit you never want to leave. It is also similar for the readers of this story because many of us never want the books to end and eagerly look forward to the next one. Now in the 12th book, the author has created a wonderful setting and a fabulous community for her fictional series and one that always welcomes you back.

Libby and Guy have chemistry from the start and it is down to a little dog that makes the initial introduction. Both of the characters have reasons for not wanting to be in a relationship and there is some great banter and flirting between the two. There is also the story of what they are trying to avoid. Each one has a story that is sad and also heartbreaking. The reasons for one of these I didn't expect, but it actually fits well in this series.

With other characters coming back, it helps to catch up with some old favourites as well as mentions of the last book. It keeps the reader up to date with goings-on in the community and also is a great way of just nudging the memory a little.

Because the author introduces new characters in each book, it means that it is easier to remember them, some stand out more than others and there are firm regulars that you would expect. This keeps things feeling real and relevant for each book.

With the wedding plans and some shocking choices, Libby has her work cut out for her, she also has a secret project in mind. I did wonder if things would turn out how they did, but how the author led me there was a journey that had me hooked.

I adored these two new characters and the others that came with them, and I look forward to seeing where things go with them in the future as I am sure they are going to appear again.

Another wonderfully written story set in an amazing community. Full of warmth and romance but with a suspicious and shocking twist. This series and this book are brilliant and if you are a fan of romance then you are going to adore this one. If you are already a fan... you are going to love it! It is another I would definitely recommend.

A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor by Christie Barlow

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and One More Chapter and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blurb

Love Heart Lane – where friends are there for you no matter what.

Fashion designer Libby Carter has always loved weddings, so when her brother finds himself in a bind and asks her to step in and plan the perfect winter wonderland wedding for guests at his hotel, Starcross Manor, she happily takes on the challenge. But this is no ordinary Christmas wedding and when everything starts to go awry Libby asks gorgeous videographer Guy Hart for help.

This isn’t single dad Guy’s usual gig – and he is not a fan of weddings – but saying no to vivacious Libby isn’t an option … especially when saying yes leads to one very unforgettable kiss under the mistletoe!

My Opinion

Sadly this is yet another series that I am reading out of order, but so far it has not spoilt my enjoyment. Each book can be read as a standalone and it always feels lovely to return to the familiar characters or Love Heart Lane.

As I was reading this, I could really picture it being made into a lovely, festive movie. With a close-knit community, returning to Starcross Manor really feels like you are returning to visit old friends. I read this over a few short stints and at the end of each sitting I really wasn't ready to leave.

This is such a heart-warming read that it will make for a great addition to your books to read over the upcoming festive season and I would recommend catching up with the whole series if you haven't started it yet.

Christie Barlow's A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor packs in everything great about the winter season. The weather outside might be filled with snow and ice, but these pages radiate pure joy. Since fashion designer Libby Carter has been tasked with planning the perfect Christmastime wedding for a pair of contest winners, it's the exact feeling you want from this kind of romance. It's no surprise then that, as she works alongside the handsome videographer Guy Hart, wedding bells might be in the near future for more than just the winning couple.

Of course, things can never run too smoothly, and Barlow has no problem adding in a hint of mayhem amid the festivities. As Libby spends her days dress designing, present planning, and even ice skating, a subtle mystery develops that ultimately keeps the book from becoming overly saccharine. Not everything is perfect at Starcross Manor. It's a welcome distraction that helps give a little tension to a book that's mostly a slow-building relationship between two lovely people.

This is Barlow's twelfth entry in the Love Heart Lane series and, in the best ways, it feels like it. A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor doesn't fall into the traps a long-running series usually does: the story doesn't feel thin nor does Barlow spend excessive amounts of time trying to catch readers up on the lives of characters from the previous eleven books. Instead, it works completely as a standalone novel with a tight plot, fun characters, and a heartwarming romance.

Much like the best weddings, it's a beautiful celebration.

Note: I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

Thank you to Harper Collins UK for the ARC!

The fact that I’m always drawn towards Christmas-themed stories isn’t news to anyone. And while I always expect a Hallmark-movie type romance, this story was a delightful surprise in that it wasn’t as straightforward as your typical Christmas romance.

Libby isn’t your typical FMC. While her career is thriving and she’s on the verge of taking on a new and incredible new job, she’s also basically given up on love. And she has a very good reason for it; someone that was important to her made her feel like she wasn’t whole in the worst way possible.

Guy isn’t looking for love. He is heartbroken and sad, and going through the motions for the sake of his adorable daughter, Holly.

When Libby and Guy meet, it’s clear that the sparks are almost instantaneous. In addition to the sizzling attraction, the tension is palpable. But, there’s so much that they don’t know about each other.

Watching Gus and Libby find their way to each other was equal parts frustrating and sweet. They’re so supportive of each other and when they trust the other enough to let them in, it’s incredible how much understanding there is between them.

P.s. I don’t think I could ever forgive Lydia for what she did.

“Holding the pink frosted cupcake, Libby followed him.” Yep that about sums it up.

Seems like Christie Barlow had the perfect recipe but accidentally doubled all the ingredients and didn’t leave it to bake long enough. It’s a weddings extravaganza on steroids. Plus we have Christmas and snow and little dogs and children too! If you like your romance sugar candy sweet with some mistletoe on top then this one’s for you. It would also help if you’ve had a wedding scrapbook from the age of five and obsessing over each detail sends shivers of delight.

Much too saccharine for me I think I’ve broken out in hives.

This was my first time reading the Love Heart lane series despite it being book 12 and it’s fair to say I’ll be going back and reading them all. This book was the perfect winter/ Christmas fairytale. It reminded me of a cheesy Christmas romantic film you’d find on Netflix but in the best way. It had me constantly smiling and feeling the magic of Christmas, with a few twists and turns to keep you on your toes and that feel good ending. Sad it’s over, I want a film of this book with a 2 years on ending so I can see how it all turned out.

A very enjoyable read that reminded me why I like this series in the first place. Everyone coming together to support each other is always nice to read about. But it was kind of odd to also read about everyone coming together to basically attack a certain couple. Might have been nicer to write it so the town helps the mean folk work through their issues etc.

But still an easy cozy read.

Who would have thought that I would read a Christmas story in the middle of Summer? I sure didn’t think I ever would, but when @christie_barlow comes out with a new book in the Love Heart Lane series and I can read it early, then I definitely will read it no matter the time of year!

I thoroughly enjoy this series and ‘A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor’ was no exception. There’s the fantastic setting we all know and love (I wish I could live there honestly!), new characters that are fun to get to know and trusty old characters that bring the village to life.

There’s just something about these books that keeps me coming back to them over and over and I can’t get enough!

Flynn Carter has a plan to show off Starcross Manor as the best wedding venue for miles – a competition to win a perfect a Winter wedding.

His good friend Guy is ready to film and photograph the whole thing showing the very best Starcross manor has to offer, but when the wedding planner walks out and leaves everything in the lurch, Flynn’s fiancé Julia suggests he calls on his wedding mad, fashion designer sister – Libby for help. At a loose end for a few weeks before starting a new life in New York in the job of her dreams, Libby can’t resist. Working together Libby and Guy make the perfect team but as things keep going wrong, they are convinced there’s something more to it.Will the wedding go ahead as planned or will Starcross Manor be in the news for all the wrong reasons?

A beautiful read bringing new characters to Love Heart Lane. Fall in love with Heartcross all over again with this latest book in the series, and Christies wonderful writing means it can also be enjoyed as a stand a lone story, and of course we get to meet up with some of the villagers we already know.

I received an early copy of this book from Netgalley and Publisher One More Chapter in return for my honest review.

Yet again another wonderful visit to the welcoming, friendly picturesque Scottish village of Heartcross this time in all its majestic wintery glory!
A feeling of coming home when you are reunited with the wonderfully diverse familiar characters and their evolving storylines!
Based around Starcross Manor but incorporating many other village locations you can really feel yourself being absorbed into the community as you progress through the book!
Planning a wonderful winter wedding at Starcross Manor should be plain sailing for Libby, however things don’t go to plan and during the course of wedding planning, foul play is detected, but with a cunning plan all is not lost and Libby along with the wonderfully generous local community pulls off the most amazing winter wedding ever to be seen and in doing so finds herself falling in love with life, work balance and the most amazing man!
Such a beautifully written, atmospheric wintery love story!
Would highly recommend
Thank you NetGalley for this early read.

Trigger Warnings
This book contains:
• Cheating spouse
• Family betrayal
• Health concerns with a parent
• Fraud.
Characters
Libby is the younger sister of Flynn who was introduced back in Starcross Manor as the protagonist. While we’ve never met her before, she was a breath of fresh air that was very much needed. While she’s got her emotional walls up high, she’s incredibly sweet, hardworking, and she wants to be there for her family in any way she can while she’s building her career.
Guy is a videographer used to being out shooting nature documentaries. He’s been incredibly hurt emotionally but won’t share what’s going on to anyone. While the people who knew him before he came to Heartcross describe him as someone who’s happy, always smiling and laughing – it’s clear that’s no longer true.
Storyline
Flynn is left without a wedding planner, right when he’s got a couple arriving to have their perfect Christmas wedding planned and paid for as part of a competition Starcross Manor is hosting. In a bid to keep the wedding from being a disaster, he asks his younger sister to help him while she’s got down time before heading to New York to start her dream job.
Overall Thoughts
I absolutely loved the white Christmas and magical wedding vibes throughout this whole book. Right from the get-go, Heartcross is covered in beautiful snow and Libby is on a mission to create the most magical Christmas wedding she possibly can.
While I can’t imagine jumping into a hot tub in the middle of winter, it certainly made for a hilarious intro for Guy. Their instant connection draws you in, and yet what sucks you in is the knowledge that Libby will be leaving the country in a matter of weeks.
Then, as the story unfolds and we begin to learn about Guy and everything that’s going on with him, you’re drawn in more and more trying to figure out how this could end in happiness. It’s a romance novel, so it must end in happiness. But how that could possibly happen with every barrier that comes up is something that feels impossible with everything that we learn.
All the way until the end, I was theorising different ways they’d be able to stay together. While I was pretty close with one of my theories, I still had a nice little surprise about how it all turned out in the end which is always nice with a romance novel.

A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor is the twelfth book in the Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow and I adore it as much as the day I read book one back when it was published in 2019. With the announcement of a new series in the not too distant future it makes me think that my visits to the wonderful village of Heartcross may soon come to an end so I better make the most of what is potentially left. This new book was another fabulous read, not specifically a Christmas book although part of the story does take place around the festive period. It’s set more in the winter season and the lead up to a special event. Again, as with all the Love Heart Lane books, this can be easily read as a standalone but the stories are so good and plant themselves firmly in your heart and mind that you’ll want to go back and read them all. I envy anyone who is only discovering this series of books now because to have the opportunity to go back and read them all in one go would be magical.

Returning to Love Heart Lane provides comfort and familiarity and you know a good read is always in store as Christie has the ability to write stories with some important issues being tackled. Alongside, the more serious issues is the perfect blend of escapism, fun and excitement which always makes the books real page turners. There are plenty of familiar characters who make a reappearance and that’s half the enjoyment of reading these books as you find out how people you had a connection with are getting on now but also there is the fun element of spotting potential new characters and storylines.

This time around I readily lost myself in Libby’s story as she faces a new and exciting chapter in her life but she is taking some time out before starting her dream job as a fashion designer in America. She plans to spend Christmas and New Year with her brother Flynn who runs Starcross Manor. Flynn is engaged to Julia who runs the local bed and breakfast in Heartcross. Julia would love nothing more than to have her dream winter wedding but they are so busy that they haven’t had time to plan anything or set a date. Libby has a painful past but has come to terms with it and is at a reasonably good place in her life and with a new stage in her successful career about to happen she feels nothing but excitement. Getting a chance to chill and relax at the wonderful space that Flynn has created at Starcross Manor will see Libby fully fuelled and ready to head away in the New Year. But little does she reckon on Flynn needing her help.

Flynn wants to promote the hotel as one of Scotland’s top wedding destination venues and to this end a competition has been run where a couple could win the wedding of their dreams. Libby agrees to be the wedding co-ordinator when the person in charge suddenly leaves the position. I loved how she stepped in to help out Flynn as it showed how loyal she was to her brother and wanted his business venture to continue to be a success. She plans on organising the winter wedding of the century and boy was I there for all the preparations as all things festive and Christmas came into play as the wedding was to be held on Christmas Eve. As Libby sets about planning everything it soon became apparent that this wasn’t going to be the usual dream wedding and that Libby was given a lot more than she bargained for. I loved how this strand of the story was developed as it added plenty of drama and twists and turns. It was only around the three quarter mark that I twigged what was going on and it could have just turned into something that petered out pretty quickly. Instead, Christie turned things full circle and it really did bring a smile to my face.

Yes, the wedding does form a significant part of the story but alongside this we get to know Libby much more and we get a glimpse into her heart and mind. She questions whether she will ever allow herself to be loved again which really made me wonder what had happened to her in the past to have her feeling this way? When the exact details are revealed I think a lot of readers will have great empathy for her and hope that her mindset can be changed. I loved how despite the way she feels deep down that she was able to push her insecurities, hurts and feelings aside and do a good job for Flynn with the wedding planning. You could see that she had so much to give to someone but what she feared most was meeting the man of her dreams and being rejected again and all because of a painful secret that she carried. You just want to be able to embrace her and say have faith in yourself and in the fact that there is someone out there that will accept you for who you are. When Flynn employs a filmmaker to document the planning of the competition winners wedding Libby is thrown into working with Guy and in doing so is taken on a journey that she hadn’t bargained for.

From their slightly uncomfortable first meeting, which really was quite funny for the reader, Guy and Libby do hit it off. Guy is dedicated to his work and very easy on the eye but yet there is a certain sadness behind his eyes. He has an adorable dachshund named Branston who has adds cuteness and comedic value and I mean who doesn’t love an adorable animal in a book? Guy doesn’t really want to be there doing the project and Libby overhears him saying he wasn’t looking forward to the next few weeks. Which made me question what was he doing there in the first place then? Libby decides she is going to make this the best job that Guy has ever worked on and bring a smile to his face. She feels comfortable in his presence and like she has known him for years and yes you can see a little spark ignite between the pair the further the story develops.

But Guy does come with baggage and it’s not his lovely little girl Sophie. He has a heavy mental load and he is eaten up by anger and bitterness and when he reveals the reasons for this you could fully understand and appreciate why he feels the way he does. It was an awful thing to happen to him and I think Libby was quite shocked aswell. Guy was a person who had spent his whole life avoiding confrontation and trying to keep the peace but in the end this was doing him no good at all. What had happened to him had meant that he had been broken to the core and anxiety and trust issues play a huge role in deeply affecting his mental and emotional state. Is Libby the one who can break through the barriers that he has erected around himself all because of such pain, hurt and anguish?

Libby knows that she only has a few weeks and then she will be away to New York so keeps her emotions in check and gets on with the job at hand. Yet, at the same time she wants to help Guy as they have become close through working on the wedding together. As the reality of moving to the other side of the world starts to sink in for Libby not to mention the unusual occurrences and strife that start to occur she comes under pressure and starts to grow scared. Can she navigate the bumpy waters ahead and at the same time help Guy? Read this captivating and entertaining read to discover all the answers. As long time readers will know Heartcross is a place to mend broken hearts and get lives back on track. But will it work for Guy and Libby and will the wedding be a successful or failure?

A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor was a heart warming story and the most perfect Christmas and winter read. It was a joy to read and once again Christie has sprinkled her magic through the pages and made me desperately hope that the book wouldn’t end nor would the series as a whole. All her characters have such distinct voices and it feels as if they have become firm friends by now and the thoughts of the series ending is just heart wrenching. That sounds pathetic to say as Heartcross is a fictional place with fictional characters but Christie has been onto a winner from day one with this series and I know many other readers feel the exact same way. There is another book due to be published before the end of the year. The Library on Love Heart Lane, which was previously published as Evie’s Year of Taking Chances, which I have already read but it has been rewritten and improved so it will be interesting to see how Evie and her story fits into Heartcross.

What a lovely uplifting story! This is my first Christie Barlow book and although this is part of her Love Heart Lane series, I don’t think it was necessary for me to read the previous eleven to enjoy this delightful, warm and cosy mystery romance. I can see why her stories are so popular, though, and I am glad to have had the pleasure of reading one. And with Christmas on the horizon, it was a perfect season selection.

There are a number of couples in this story but Libby and Guy are centre focus. Yet Libby’s brother Flynn and his soon-to-be wife, Julia, are very much a large part of the plot, too, that includes a lovely surprise where the community comes together to create a very special event.

Libby Carter is a fashion designer whose last important relationship ended badly. But she has directed her passion elsewhere by putting her heart and soul into building her business. Her hard work has paid off. Now she has been offered a prestigious role in New York where she can further expand her career. But before she heads off to fashion central in the new year, her brother, Flynn, owner of Starcross Manor (an events venue) needs her help. His wedding planner has resigned and left him in a lurch so his sister takes over temporarily to organise the perfect winter wonderland wedding. This will be used for positive venue promotion to increase profile and sales. The couple to star in this video advertisement have won a competition hosted by the Manor. Their prize is a wedding of their dreams. But when Libby meets them, she senses there is something very odd about this couple; including their strange request for an all-black wedding. Of course, herein lies the mystery and it’s a great one that kept me engaged and turning the pages, even though I guessed early on what was happening.

Joining Libby in the task is videographer Guy Hart, friend of Flynn’s. Guy is not a fan of weddings (and understandable when we hear his story) but he has been hired to team up with her. Together they create some magic on and off camera. These unexpected sparks continue to glow and the experiences they share are quite touching; including time spent with Holly (Guy’s young daughter). The little girl becomes very fond of Libby and vice versa. It is clear Holly needs a good female role model and a sincere friend and she finds both in Libby who is warm, wise and kind.

I felt I got to know the important characters quite well and I particularly liked Libby, her friend Isla, brother Flynn, Guy and little Holly (daughter of Guy). Libby and Flynn’s dad was pretty cool, too, even if his appearances were brief. And, of course, lovely Julia who gets to have a set of reindeer!

Setting is important in this novel and the cover provides a great mental picture. The descriptions of the gorgeous Scottish landscape covered in snow add atmosphere and charm. This is the kind of novel you don’t want to end as you feel part of the story. There is a wonderful positive message that with each obstacle, there is a sound solution and that if things are meant to be they will work out. Once reality kicks in that she will be moving far from her family and Guy, she becomes torn as what to do. She has just been offered her dream job but are the sacrifices too much? Should she go to New York or stay in Scotland? After talking to her dad, a solution appears. And this story has a very happy ending after all.

This heart-warming Christmas novel about the healing power of love and second chances is a real gem. Yes, as Guy says, ‘The past is something we can’t change but we can learn from it.’ And as Libby responds, ‘Once you let yourself start living again and there’s hope for the future, everything seems calmer.’ These characters certainly learn from their pasts and everything works out. Great things are on the horizon. New home, fresh start and new perspective. A delightful Christmas story. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Flynn Carter owns and runs Starcross Manor. The stately home and venue of the century. He has decided to boost wedding business by running a competition to win an all singing and dancing wedding at the manor until his wedding planner suddenly leaves. The only person he can ask is his sister Libby in the hope she can help him out until she jets off to her new life in NYC. Will she help and will she get more than just the wedding of the century organised?

After reading book 2 in the series "Foxglove Farm." I have been following the author. Knowing I wanted to read all the books in the Love heart Lane series. So far I have read all the books after and including book 2.

This is book 12 however you would not know this when reading it and this book makes a great stand alone. Something I think this author has got down to a fine art. Although I can guarantee you'll soon be reading the rest of the series because you just won't want to leave Heartcross

It's always great to meet your old friends again in the next book and watch how their lives become what they wanted from it throughout their own book. This book gives a refresher on all the main villagers and shows how fair they've come since their own books. It really brings them all together and refreshes you memory- not that you ever forget them.

Furthermore the community spirit in Heartcross is always spectacular it just shows how everyone only wants the best for you and how it takes a village to pull any event off particularly Heartcross events. Something you can only hope is replicated in your own community.

This book is a great romance read. Although their are some emotional subjects included in this book such as LGBTQ+, retirement, infertility and family feuds amongst other things. I do not feel this takes away from the romantic feel of the book but has you heart growing fonder of the struggles each character faces. This book really shows how inclusive 21st century living can be particularly when the winners don't want a traditional wedding. I really felt you could see Libbys mind widening infront of you. This book also has the biggest twists and turns out of all the love heart Lane series in my opinion. You have an idea on where this is going in your head and Christie uses a topic to provide a twist and throw a spanner in your thinking. Christie uses her stories to really bring up and raises the profile of important and often taboo subjects in modern Britain. Which effect the world more than anyone realises.

I Cannot wait to read the next book as always but an incredibly sad it'll be the last one.

I would also say that I much prefer the titles like the other books of eg "Heartcross Castle." I feel changing it to the long title it now is 1, doesn't roll off of the tongue so easy and 2, isn't in keeping with the love heart Lane brand. This doesn't effect the book hence my review is no different but just a thought for the publishers and one I also said since book number 8.

I do love this series. It's my little go to oasis of calm and good cheer in amongst all the dark and dreadful murders I am usually reading about. There is something warm and welcoming about these books and, it's true what they say - once you visit (read about) Heartcross, you won't want to leave. This time it is Libby Carter under the spotlight, younger sister of Flynn, owner of Starcross Manor. So far, she's the one person who has been able to visit Heartcross without being caught entirely under its magnetic spell. With a new job about to start in New York City, she steps into the breach to help out Flynn when Starcross Manor's wedding planner quits with no notice, little knowing how much five short weeks might change her vision of the future.

Now we, the readers, are no fools. There is simply no way that Libby will leave Heartcross without it printing itself upon her heart. And when she meets her new and temporary colleague, photographer and film maker, Guy, it's fair to say that there is an instant, and mutual attraction. But like all good love stories, it's not going to be a smooth path to romance, and nobody writes this better than Christie Barlow. She creates character's you feel instantly connected to, and with both Libby and Guy I was quickly engaged in their stories. Not just the will they won't they aspect of it all - it is all hearts and flowers in Heartcross after all. Quite literally in this case given they are both employed to deliver the perfect wedding for Flynn's competition winners. But they both have emotional backstories which drew me in, although Libby's is known far more quickly than Guy's. the more we learn of them, and their reluctance to trust themselves to love again, the more you can see they are quite obviously a perfect match. There are one or two little parts of Guy's life which endear him to Libby even more, and if you don't finish this book at least loving pickle, there is something wrong with you.

Not only do you get brilliant camaraderie in this series, with all of the usual Love Heart Lane characters standing by to create that overwhelming sense of community that infuses the books, but you also get comedy. Suffice to say that the couple that have won the competition are not exactly what Flynn had been expecting. Couldn't be further from that if they tried to be honest. It adds some comedic moments to the book, as well as the touches of drama and misunderstanding that we have come to expect. The course of true love does not run smoothly - for anyone in this book - and there are things afoot that nobody could have seen coming. But it all comes good in the end - wouldn't be the same series without a happy ending. Whether it is the one you might have been expecting ... Well, read the book and see for yourselves.

Fun, romantic and with that wonderful sense of community, friendship and love that makes this series so special, fans are going to love it. Christmas may have come early, but it's a snow covered, picture perfect story that really brought a smile to my face. Recommended.

What a lovely, whimsical romance this has been! A Winter Wedding At Starcross Manor is set in the Scottish highlands and features all the magic of the season and none of the downsides. The setting is like a scene from a fairytale. There is a frozen lake for skating, snow flakes and ice crystals decorating the trees. It’s a winter wonderland. Starcross Manor is oppulent and comes complete with a doorman and separate luxury lodges in which our hero and heroine are housed. Libby’s comes with a hot tub that leats to a delightful meet-cute when Guy’s daschund leaps into her tub, causing Libby, clad in a bikini and a red bobble hat to get out. Naturally guy finds the scenery very appealing.
These two are lovely characters. Libby is a talented wedding dress designer and has just landed a dream job with a New York fashion house. She’s helping her brother Flynn before she leaves by stepping into the shoes of his former wedding planner, who left abruptly. She’s a kind and generous character but is cautious about relationships after being devastated when her fiancé broke off their engagement just a few months before their wedding. Guy is very much a loner. He’s guarding his heart too, though for slightly different reasons. He’s a brilliant film maker, focusing mainly on landscape and wildlife, though he’s agreed to help Flynn as a favour. He’s taciturn at times and it was lovely to see Libbby slowly breaking the ice around his heart. Guy’s six year-old daughter Holly is just gorgeous and comes close to stealing the scene at times.
I loved the dialogue and the imagery in this story. The humour is there most of the time, but with a light touch. Imagine Guy towing his dog Pickle around on a sled and you’ll get the idea. This has been such a sweet story to read.

I do love visiting Heartcross and all the wonderful residents that I have met throughout this marvellous series. This time, the focus was on Fashion Designer Libby Carter and wildlife filmmaker, Guy Hart, as they step in to create a marketing campaign for Libby’s brother, Flynn, and his hotel, Starcross Manor. We’ve met Flynn before and already know that he’s totally in love with his fiancée, Julia.
In a bid to make Starcross Manor Scotland’s number one wedding venue, Flynn has dreamed up a competition with the prize being an all-expenses-paid dream wedding at the hotel. The brief is quite simple: Libby is to take on the role of Wedding Planner- in the wake of the departure of previous incumbent, Jenny - and Guy is to follow Libby and the happy couple, recording everything and producing a promotional video. It all sounds quite simple until the prize winners arrive and the dreams of a romantic wedding are somewhat challenged.
As I’ve come to expect from previous visits to Heartcross, this was a gorgeous, warm, and romantic story. It offered everything that I could hope for, including some appearances from characters of earlier books. Of course, this book can be enjoyed as a standalone story, but I can highly recommend the entire series.
I just loved Libby and Guy, the synopsis alone told me that there would be chemistry between them, but you could almost hear the zings coming off the pages. Of course, nothing is simple, and there are secrets to reveal and a rather nasty case of emotional blackmail to overcome. One thing I knew, without a doubt, is that the journey towards a happy ever after may be tricky, but the payoff would be exquisite.

This is book #12 in the Love Heart Lane series. Whilst it is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone book. We return to the village of Heartcross in the Scottish Highlands when Flynn Carter, owner of Starcross Manor, is in need of a wedding planner. There is no one better qualified than his sister Libby, who agrees to help organise a Christmas wedding before she flies to New York to start her dream job. Being hired as the photographer, we also get to meet Guy Hart, who alongside his little dog Pickle, begins to work very closely with Libby!!

I love this series and am always happy to return to Heartcross. This trip is particularly festive, being set on the run up to Christmas and we get to see the little Scottish village and Starcross Manor in all it's snowy, Christmas joy! I loved Libby and Guy's characters. Libby is known to Heartcross already and we get to meet again the other villagers whom we've already met in previous books. Libby is all set to move across the Atlantic just after Christmas to work at her dream job. She's certainly amazing at what she does and not only do we get to feel all Christmassy, but we also get the wedding bug watching Libby organising the planned wedding at Starcross Manor. Guy is also very likeable and makes the perfect romantic interest for Libby, although he does appear to carry some past issues with him.

This was an absolutely delightful read! I was hooked from the very first page and fell so much in love with Starcross Manor at Christmas that I was willing to get married all over again just to experience it in all it's festive glory. Full of loveable characters, beautiful scenery and a wonderful storyline, this was probably my favourite visit to Heartcross yet! It's the perfect Christmas read, although I'd read it any time of year! Would definitely recommend.

This is the first book I have read by Christie Barlow, but, it definitely won't be the last. When I obtained a copy of this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion, I didn't actually realise it was part of a series, called 'Love Heart Lane' so I am coming in totally blind and not sure if I have missed any important back stories on the characters.

Anyone who knows me, will know that I love a Christmas book whatever the time of year, in fact I prefer to read them at this time of year when fall is fast approaching and the nights start to draw in. They make me look forwards to the change in the seasons. so when I saw the lovely cover on this book are and read the title I was in.

As the title suggests this book is based at Starcross Manor. Libby's brother the owner Flynn, asks her to come and help him stage a wedding, that has been gifted by the hotel in a competition to try and improve their bookings. His wedding planner has quit and left him in the lurch. Having time on her hands before starting her dream job and flying to NYC and escape a heartache, Libby decides to go home and rescue him. But nothing quite goes according to plan. Flynn has hired photographer Oliver who is also trying to escape his troubles for a while. He is joined by his lovely daughter Hollie who instantly falls for Libby and the two hit it off.

This is one of those books that by the time you get to the end of it, you want to be a resident at Stonecross. The village is full of lovely locations and ever kinder and friendlier neighbours who are always on hand to help each other out. This would make the perfect Hallmark movie. I will certainly carry on reading the series.

❄👰Can they pull off the perfect Christmas event?🎄

This novel is loaded with the trappings of a sparkling, winter wonderland December in the Scottish Highlands; I loved the descriptions of the wildlife, beautiful scenery and decorations though at a certain point it all seemed too perfect to be real! But, in contrast there's a good bunch of mayhem caused by snafus in a promotional wedding event for the luxury Starcross Manor resort and the mysteriously contrary bride and groom. The problems cropping up inserted a bit of reaIism and I liked the mystery element even though the author made it pretty obvious from early on who was behind the wedding preparation glitches.

My favorite part of the story? Fashion designer heroine Libby's warm friendship with young Holly, the daughter of her handsome neighbor at the Starcross Manor where she's temporarily working for the owner, her brother, as a wedding planner. Libby and her new guy Guy were a cute couple, especially with Holly included in the mix.

What drew me to this story and others in the Love Heart Lane series were the small-town setting and the cooperative community feel. Everybody gets along and pitches in when someone's in need. And with the added Christmas -time season magic, the story is happy, hopeful and sweetly romantic. It was a lovely read to get in the Christmas mood.

Thanks to HarperCollins UK/One More Chapter and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Libby, Flynn and Guy are all very likeable characters. Libby who has a few weeks off before starting her job in New York immediately helps her brother when Jenny, the wedding planner he employed, quits immediately. Guy a photographer and filmmaker is also asked by Flynn to assist in the project, as he is temporarily not that comfortable in terms of accommodation he also accepts the job. In fact, a beautiful winter wedding is to be held at Starcross Manor, Flynn's hotel in Heartcross. Brides and grooms could apply for this and Jenny selected a wedding couple from these. When first talking to the bride and groom, Libby sees her brother's idea, a promotional film to put his hotel on the map as the wedding venue in the area, fall apart.

Libby doesn't leave it at that and sets out to investigate in the meantime. Helped by Guy who is residing with his daughter in the lodge next door to Libby. There is more to it than meets the eye. But the big question is and remains of course will there be any wedding on the day before Christmas that filmed by Guy could put Starcross Manor on the map as a top location. The tight-knit nature of the village comes across well in this book, although I find it somewhat implausible that it is always very busy and yet it is a very small village. Perhaps it is a small town rather than a village. In any case, I would definitely travel there if it really existed because it sounds like a nice and warm neighbourhood.

Yes, it's the end of September and I'm about to mention the ... "C" word .... that's "Christmas in case you are wondering. As a fan of the holiday season, I'm happy to read Christmas themed novels all year round, but I'm aware that many readers, prefer to be more seasonal on their approach. Either way, the time is quickly arriving for the perfect time to enjoy, A Winter Wedding At Starcross Manor.
Set at the unusually named Manor in the idyllic Scottish Highlands, the village of Loveheart is the setting for previous novels in the series, but it's easy to read A Winter Wedding as a standalone (and if you have read earlier novels, then the reappearance of former characters provides an enjoyable catchup on their lives).
Flynn and his fiancee Julia are running the Manor and aim to turn it into the "must be" location for weddings. As part of this plan, they are running a competition for a couple to have their dream wedding, all costs covered, hosted at the Manor. Of course, it would be a particularly short novel, if all went according to plan and soon we have staff resigning, a grumpy photographer, a decidedly unusual wedding couple and Flynn's sister Libby recruited to save the day. As the wedding edges closer, the number of disasters increases and our photographer and Libby have to team up to save the Hotel.
It's no surprise to say that the tale will have a positive ending, but the overall positivity of the novel, while dealing with issues of family and health problems is interesting and held my attention throughout.

Love heart lane

Who wouldnt want to live in heartcross. Heartcross sounds like such an amazing.place.The people all look out for each other. Libby is helping her brother out after his wedding planner leaves him in the lurch just as his wedding competition winners are due to plan their wedding. The competition files have gone missing so no one knows who has won or what they look like. Flynn Libby's brother has also employed a filmmaker called guy to film the whole thing from planning through to the actual wedding for Flynn to use as a publicity Video and photos to show what Starcross Manor to promote them as the best venue in the country to get married at. When the wedding couple turn up, they introduce themselves as Miranda & David. Libby is stuck for words as the bride is 6 feet tall her healsadding to that. With long black hair and totally dressed in black. The groom iwas about 5 feet tall also all in black accept a fluorescent green tie. Guy is filming the whole thing. Libby asks what the colour scheme is and what sort of dress, decorations and cake etc they want, and is shocked when they say the theme is black. The cake dress decorations etc all black. Libby thought they were joking. Libby and Guy decided to fill Flynn and Julia in on the disaster about to unfold. Flynn cant believe this and asks to see their competiton entry form. The competition folder is empty. Libby,Guy,Flynn & Julia begin to think something is suspicious about the whole competition winner thing . They now have to work out what.isnt quite right,
